Boy Swallows Universe Reminds Us Of A Time Before Tech

View descriptionShare

When Trent Dalton's best selling book Boy Swallows Universe hit the small screen this year, it brought with it all the Brisbane 1980's vibes with it.

As Eli Bell navigates his way through his troubling but beautiful life, he is surrounded by markers of a time gone by, with fat back TV's, cassette players, cars with window winders and landline telephones with a dial.

For those who grew up during this time it's a reminder of a simpler life where technology didn't rule our universe, but do we really want to go back to that? And even if we wanted to, could we?

The Quicky team investigates what it would take to turn back tech time.
