Cowardly and unprovoked is how police have described the actions of a man who poured hot coffee over a baby at a Brisbane Park. 

Detective Inspector Paul Dalton says officers are still hunting for the man that did a runner after the incident at stones corner yesterday. 

The 9-month-old baby has undergone surgery and is not in a stable condition.
