This November 9-10, 2024, the 11th Annual Islamic Arts Festival will bring together Islamic artists from around the globe here in Houston for two days dedicated to celebrating the diversity and richness of Islamic visual and performing arts, spoken word, film, and so much more. This one-of-a-kind cultural event is expected to bring together hundreds of Houstonians at the University of Houston, and is completely free to attend! 

UNCF (United Negro College Fund) and The Walt Disney Company are teaming up to create special scholarships for HBCU students. For the past 12 years, The Walt Disney Company has partnered with UNCF to offer scholarships to support HBCU students who aspire to pursue opportunities within the entertainment industry! These scholarship programs are offered in collaboration with Disney businesses including ESPN, FX, and National Geographic.

Texas has the largest veteran population in the nation with over 250,000 veterans in residence. The City is proud to pay tribute to our men and women in the military by providing an annual “Houston Salutes American Heroes Veterans Day Celebration”. The traditional Veterans Day Ceremony will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024 at 10 a.m. Our guest is Houston City Councilman, Pastor Willie Davis.

Our Annual Veterans Day Classic returns on Thursday, November 7th at Wildcat Golf Club. Once again, we’re celebrating those who served with a day of golf, prizes and so much more!  Here to talk about the event is our VP and Market Manager, Pam McKay, Event Sponsorship Director, Avery Green, and NTR Specialist, Dorita Hatchett. 

 Award winning film director,  Isaac Yowman, the owner and CEO of IYO Visuals, has created an exclusive visual with the NFL for Andre Johnson's Hall of Fame debut. The Texans have partnered up with IYO Visuals to celebrate AJ's legacy on and off the field building up to this historic event.  We also talk about how it feels to have his idols as his friends, passion projects, and how he manifested this for his life.
