Rebuilding Together, an initiative to celebrate Black Heritage Month (February 2023) through the Community Revitalization Third Ward program. The Rebuilding Together program mission to bring hope to families across the Third Ward, a landmark African American community since the 1870s. The historic Third Ward may have more families at risk of losing their homes than any other neighborhood in Houston. Low-income Third Ward seniors are struggling to repair their aging homes in an effort to age in place and preserve their home for future generations. Joining us is the CEO, Christine Holland, CCO, Thierry Tchenko, and from Change Happen, Northern Third Ward is the neighbor connection project manager, DeMarcus Foster.
February is Heart Health Month. Dr. George Adesina earned his medical degree in 2011 at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. After completing his residency in 2014, Dr. Adesina began a fellowship program in cardiovascular diseases at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, which he completed in 2017, including a year as Chief Cardiology Fellow from 2016 to 2017. He talks about the issues of heart disease, what one can do to lower heart health risks, and so much more!
