Mould Part 1: The Causes

View descriptionShare

As one of the UK's most successful investors, Rob has come up against his share of challenges, and one of the fiercest opponents when it comes to properties is mould. In this episode, Rob talks about what causes it, which may help you to prevent it from taking hold in your house.

  • Mould can cause a great deal of issues, and can negatively impact health in a very big way. It isn't just a stain on a wall.
  • Mould generally occurs when a cold air front hits a warm air front. It starts as condensation which then settles - bacteria grows - mould appears.
  • Excessive damp can cause mould - rising damp or penetrating damp. A lack of ventilation is also another huge factor.

'Mould is pretty much a pain in the backside'

'The wetness feeds up the walls, and if not treated properly, you're then going to end up with mould'
