What we at The Produce Retail Podcast like to call “Fresh Start Season” is upon us! Is there another time of year when folks approach the produce department with more gusto, committed once again to embrace and stick to healthier eating habits? Supermarkets are in a privileged position to support consumers in those lofty aspirations, even after the strict New Year’s Resolutions begin to fade. One of the roles that can be a fantastic resource to stores (and particularly produce departments) is the retail dietitian. Our featured guests today, on our third Retail Dietitian Roundtable, are Joni Rampolla with The Giant Company and Kimberly Asman with Weis Markets – brought together for this conversation by the Produce for Better Health Foundation, which has built a great network of retail dietitians to help grow fruit and vegetable consumption.

In this episode, we talk with Joni and Kim about how they’re creating and distributing content that supports shoppers in their quest for healthier eating not only during “Fresh Start Season” in January and February but throughout the year. As you listen to this episode, consider how your department can leverage some of the great resources these folks provide, whether your organization has a retail dietitian or not.
