We're delighted to have as our guest this week longtime produce retail executive Scott Schuette. Over the last 35-plus years Scott has served in leadership roles with Fresh Thyme, Sprouts and Bashas. He’s been recognized as Produce Retailer of the Year and Specialty Food Retailer of the Year. He’s also been so kind to be a regular on this podcast and share his perspective on all kinds of executive topics, from managing across divisions to developing the annual budget to writing to the ad — and many, many more. Today we brainstorm around meal solutions merchandising and the opportunity for retailers to get better at helping shoppers answer their "What's for dinner?" "What's good to snack on?" "What should I do for date night?" "What can I get the kids to eat?" questions. We touch on the role of traffic patterns in this effort around the 30-minute mark of the conversation, so if you're short on time, feel free to start there. Thanks so much for listening, and enjoy!
