Dombrowski detailed Thomson’s firing and answered questions about his own job performance. Mattingly discussed his expectations. Thomson made himself available to Philly reporters one final time.

What’s to come for the Phillies? We’ll find out. But they opened Mattingly’s tenure with a win.
