It was 105 degrees at Citizens Bank Park on Thursday afternoon.

It’s been hot at the Bank all week. The Phillies’ offense scored 25 games in the first three games of a four-game split against the Pirates, including an eight spot on Paul Skenes. But Zack Wheeler was hot on Wednesday night when Don Mattingly pulled him from the game with two outs in the fifth inning. Wheeler talked about it on Wednesday night. Mattingly addressed it on Thursday.

The Phillies not only enjoyed another late-inning comeback on Sunday in New York, but they moved within three games of the Braves in the NL East.

The Phils were 9-19 and 10 ½ games behind the Braves on April 26, which was Rob Thomson’s final game as manager. FanGraphs gave the Phils just a 6.9 percent chance to win the division. But they woke up on Monday 47-37 with a 33.2 percent chance to win the division. Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper and Brandon Marsh continue to lead the way offensively.
