The Code 9 Foundation is a volunteer-staffed charity that provides a place of support for current & veteran professional first responders & 000 operators who live with PTSD, depression, anxiety and other mental health conditions that result from their service to the community.
They are fortunate to be partnered by local fundraising initiative Walk for Bell, who are raising funds towards the Code 9 Foundation in honour of Bella Canfield who was tragically taken away too soon.
The next Walk for Bell takes place this Saturday 28th of March in Bridgewater-on-Loddon.

ANZAC Day is approaching and to get a better perspective on what is entailed in delivering the many commemorative services across Bendigo, and on the work that the RSL and similar organisations do for veterans and their families, Glenn Ludeman, President of the Bendigo District RSL came in for a long chat with Brett and Keith, providing important insight and understanding of the great work they do.

No stranger to The Phatt, it was great to have Michelle Murphy, CEO of Bendigo Foodshare back with us to talk about the traditional Easter Book Fair fundraiser, with somewhere around 20,000 books available from Good Friday to Easter Monday at McGilvray Hall (Bendigo TAFE). But as always for The Phatt, Brett and Keith also chatted with Michelle about the huge 10 million kilos of food that has gone through Foodshare to communities, their work in supporting the emergency responders and those who were (and still are) impacted by the Harcourt bushfires, and the continued development of their Golden Square home.
There's a reason why Michelle is one of the favourite guests on The Phatt and today's conversation continued to amaze us on The Phatt in terms of the incredible work Michelle, the staff, and the army of volunteers and partners do through Bendigo Foodshare.

Although relatively new to the role of councillor at The City of Greater Bendigo (like many of the new crop of councillors), Thomas Prince was elected as Mayor and takes pride in his hometown and being able to take an active role in growing the future for our communities.

He is passionate about the issues of waste management, recycling, roads and growing the economy, and is proud to be part of Greater Bendigo’s diverse and inclusive community.

Thomas has been an active volunteer in the community for the past 20 years and is currently studying part time at La Trobe University.

His past achievements include development of the Bendigo Dragons Gridiron Club and helping deliver school programs to get more children playing sport.

We were pleased to be able to welcome Thomas to the studio as part fo our monthly program of chatting with our local councillors.
