The Phatt Community Conversations

Holly and Maggie from Sports Focus - 14th October 2026

In their Community Conversation on 21st October 2026, Brett and Keith welcomed back City of Greater Bendigo Deputy Mayor Cr. Karen Corr for a chat following a marathon council meeting on Monday night.
They talked about the strong focus on getting information out to the local area about decisions made at council; including the decision-making process and the importance of robust but respectful debate, and the ability to recognise that differences of opinion are healthy for a strong democratic process.
They also chatted about the terrible incident involving Independent Federal MP Helen Haynes and the dangers of the modern attitudes trending towards unhealthy conflict.
As always it was a great chat with Cr. Corr and well worth a listen.

Square Action is a community-led group of Golden Square Residents who are looking to support an active and engaged local community. They look to advocate for their community, looking at local issues and challenges and looking to be part of the solution rather than the issue.
Chris Corr and David Macauley from Square Action came in to chat with Brett and Keith about the group, what they do, and what issues they are currently talking about and taking action on.
A great discussion about community and being part of the future of their suburb.
