Big Tech companies are rolling out their censorship tools ahead of the US midterm elections - promising to suppress content that they deem to be "misinformation." Twitter and Meta (which owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp) are pledging to implement new and existing mechanisms to block stories, posts, pictures, memes, and comments that they deem to be false.

These same mechanisms were implemented ahead of the 2020 presidential race to suppress the spread of the story of Hunter Biden's laptop.

But that's fine, according to noted online intellectual Sam Harris - who told a YouTube show that he didn't care if the laptop had images of dead kids in a basement. All that mattered was ensuring Donald Trump was defeated. Harris' comments prompted backlash on social media, and he tried to walk them back. It didn't help.
