He is an artist, academic, professor of visual communication and leader of doctoral studies of the School of Art and Media at the University of Brighton. They discuss the role perception plays in his art and the role of art in the way we perceive and understand the world.
He explains how his interactive video installations are designed to draw the audience in. Doing so in ways that means that they become a part in the pieces of artwork. Using networked art installations Paul connects audiences in different locations and blurs the lines between the audience and the performer. They discuss some of his installations, including how they are set up and how people who interface with them respond.
