Let me tell you something, Saturday Night Live and some of those during that time when Eddie Murphy was on and Joe Piscopola.
Eighties, early eighties and then the mid nineties. Yes, that was what those were. The Yeah, they.
Were so good and so funny.
They made stars, and I don't know if they make any stars anymore. They make I think they make, you know, people doing all right to make a good career, But like, where's the Will Ferre, Where's the Eddie Murphy.
I was unbelievable. I'm doing about big.
Day, you know, yeah, me even going on, Michael said, Mike Myers, and just yeah, they made stars back back then.
All right, let's talk about those Los Angeles Lakers, currently up seventy five sixty one.

All right, well, you know it's gonna be a game, all right, Clatures are down by eleven. There's ten minutes to go in the third course, a lot of basketball to play. But anyway, the Lakers have been scuffling. Let's just be honest. I've lost seven of their last ten. They had two really bad losses, a bad home loss to the Bulls, and then they went down to Orlando and gave up one hundred and eighteen points easily right to the lowest scoring team in the NBA, the Orlando Magic.
And I'm just wondering.
You know, people were high when they had that thing going and Luca first got there and Lebron and oh my god, you don't want to see them, and all the question marks about whether or not they could play d you know, the Lakers, that was the issue. Yeah, we know they can score with Luca and Lebron, but can they defend anybody?
Can they stop anybody? And whatnot?
And at first it was going just smoothly, and now it seems to have come undone.
And where are you now?
Let's start with you on the Lakers and expectations as we as we start to, you know, move closer to the end of the regular season.
My expectations hasn't changed once Luca became a member of the Lakers. I said then that I think now they got a really great shot to get to the Western Conmas finals and then from there you just ball out and hope to try to get to the finals. Part of that what is because again we already know the two man game of Lebron and Luca Naga that's too hard to stop. Right when it comes down to postseason or big games, when possessions matter and they're they're crucial and you have to take care of the ball. Having the ball in the hands of Luca or Lebron three four minutes leven a game that most teams don't have that luxury of having two guys like that. Most teams don't even have a guy like that. But what made them play well prior to this last week or so was the fact that they were playing defense. Robin, they were playing defense butfore Luca and they were playing great defense. They were in the better team since the beginning of January before Luca got there. And then Luca kind of just fell in line and started to play some good defense the best he can and he was able to compete. And I'll always say, if nothing else, giving effort, nobody's asking he's got to be the return of Ron Our Test Metalworld Peace or Kawhi Leonard or Bruce Bowen or you know Lindsey Hunter as somebody you know a great ball defender. Nobody's saying that. But daggould give me some effort. And he was doing that, but then he missed a couple games. Obviously, Lebron was out for a week or so, two weeks, and that started to slip, and he started to go back into Luca world. And what I mean is since Luca Doncas was probably twelve years old, ten years old, you know, the best player always was me, and you know what the system was me and I come out here and if I'm not bringing an effort, if I'm just shooting the ball and I'm just doing how I want to do, that's what I do because I'm the best. Sometimes I think he has to remember, dude, you got some really good players, one of the all time Gates on Lebron. You got Austin Reason playing out of his mind the last few months. You got guys around you play with the system, get good shots, a we can make shots, so then we can lock up and play our defense. You got to set your defense with made shots. And so Luke had a couple of games where I think he forgot that and he went Lucas centric where playing a little lethargic taking bad shots. You know, I'm just doing this, and forgot what was working was that style of play, moving the ball, getting the easier shots, making a getting effishing shots, and playing defense and so hopefully they are able to you know, we'll see if they get back to it and they're up now. But to me, they got away from that when Lebron being gone, Luca being in and out the lineup for a few and they got they lost. They were smelling themselves for a little bit, rob and lost. What had them having a successful run? Now, let me ask you, and I didn't see the video.
I didn't see first things first, Today with our friend Chris Bussard, I saw the headline on the video, and he basically said that Luca is a bit of a ball hall and that the Lakers have a problem. And you just talked about Lucas Central. Is that an issue?
I mean, oh yeah, yeah, I can break it out right watching the game.
You said that a couple of time just watching like.
Given off air, I need to take that because listen, we all fall back to the base of who we are, right, It's hard for you to continue to change your habit. Right, Like if you're a great, great example, I give you compliments because you've locked in and you're eating right you are, and you told you what I was going to do, told it you were able to lock in. Now maybe there's other areas in your life where you're like, I'm not gonna I'm going to bed earlier, and you're like a let me go maybe tomorrow or one of them everybody favorite line, Brie Mary Islo, you know your everybody's favorite line. I'll start on Monday, boy, we all start on Monday. And so Luca his start on Monday is getting back in, playing hard, effort on the defense, event moving the ball. I could get this shot, Luca. Dodgers can get any shot he wants any time, rob but this is the best shot right now. Should I get this guy going? Should I keep Vincent? Gave Vincent his hot and I try to work him. Let me get this guy. He hasn't had a few shots. Luca has to remember that, otherwise he'll fall back to the man they say something, bunt me get this shot. Man. We downated the other team, hit a few baskets. Let me just get this shot. And he'll take bad shots because he's been able to do that this whole life, because at the end of the day, I'm better than you. And what had been working for them was moving the ball, playing defense, because then you get other guys inspired, then they get the ball in their hands. Then they're making shots and everybody's going and it ends up, you know what I mean, the energy levels up. But when Lebron is all kind of lethargic because he's tired, and Lucas slowly bringing in dribble dribble, dribble dribble, and then, uh, it messes the team up. It just slows down. I'll get the ball. When I get it, your defense level goes down. We can't ever get back on defense because why we ain't making shots, so therefore we can't set the defense. We gotta just scramble back. So when Luca gets in that Luca world and let me just slowly and I'm mad at the refs, it brings the team down. And I'm not saying he's gonna have he's gonna have nighteries off. But there's a thing is a good shot even if you missed it right.
And and that and that's what I was talking about, because I've seen you in here just watching being like, did you have to take that?
That's right, you can get that, but that's a bad shot.
You don't have to put yourself in that spot.
I still think that some of the stuff we've seen is some of the question marks that you're gonna have about the Laker and and and that's where it comes down to. And if they don't do anything and and the defense isn't good, people gonna say, see, I knew it was. They got all this firepower, but they can't stop anybody. What Orlando did to them. That was the really best Chicago had a had a night one hundred, but that Orlando where they are like one of the worst teams. They were like eighteen and seventeen at home, barey over five hundred. They were they were should have been beaten with Luca and Lebron playing against them, and they weren't.
And so there's the issue.
I don't have that much confidence if you told me, asked me right now, are they going to the Western Conference finals? No way, no how, I'm not. I'm just not there because I think match ups playing about one. That's just that's period.
They played Denver. No, they're not. They might not get out of the first round if it was them against Denver.
And that's why they better keep winning, Rod because you don't want to fall six five, six, seven, eight slot and then you mess around and have to play he the player and b Okay, you win the play, but now you got to play. Welcome to the first round. You're playing Denver, you know what I mean, because you want to get to Denver Western Conference. Maybe they're worn down, maybe you found some gold, you found a lineup that works, you found a good defensive scheme. You don't want to right off the bat play Denver. I do think they're well equipped, they're better equipped. I should say to play Denver now because let's say, yo one hundred percent, that's not a question. But let's say Jokis is Jokids. Well if lucas Luca as he just scores again twice in a row, then you're like, all right, we got a guy who can match him. So if Jokics puts up twenty eight twelve and twelve, well, Luca putting up twenty eight twelve and twelve is literally like a normal night too as well. So you it really comes down to Lebron and the others versus their Jamamal Murray and the others, because you figure Luca and Jokic can wash each other out, and so now it becomes who's gonna have the better you know, of the seven game series, Who's others, Who's Lebron and others?
And Jamal Murray's and others.
Have you seen Jamal Murray against the Lakers? Well, I don't know what, man, he's the Lakers. It's like the Lakers took his girlfriend or something. He's playing really well the last few months. He's playing well obviously when he's when he's healthy, Jamal Murray see a purple and gold jersey and lose his mind. He's like a bullsey and red. I'm like, bru, you ain't never been this good, no doubt, it's everything. It's incredible, so real quick, you don't buy who you buying? Then I take Denver before I would take them. Okay, so that's one. Who else?
Okay, See, I'm not going to discount their whole year. I know that's not fair. I know a lot of people, and I get it. At some point you have to get over to we're gonna get over the hump, And I get it. That's what people kept saying about Boston and all that, and and it might not people thought last year when the Timberwolves they were like ready to crown the Timberwolves.
Thought have a better year. I'm disappointing them.
So I'm still, like I said, Denver still is okay on my screen.
I'm not the mggas. They'll be a tough out.
But I'm not a Warriors guy either, I said, I've seen some signs that it ain't that great Phoenix.

Spencer is presently playing professionally in Germany. So tonight, Austin did a gender reveal for the benefit of his brother watching the game overseas, based on the color of the shoes he wore for tonight's game. So tonight, for the game, he came out wearing pink shoes, therefore revealing to Spencer that the baby will be a girl. Congratulations to Spencer and his wife Casey.

Okay, it is currently a Metstown for the first time since Rob Parker was young. This is this is a time where Steve Cohen has put money resources, the fans are behind what they're doing. They got Juan Soto over the Yankees, which is big because what did the Yankees say every year?

Well, for the first time ever, Mets fans got the buzz of New York. What did Met fans break about in the past. Oh, we got the best food, we got the best announcers, Gary Cohen, Ron and Keith. Now the Mets have the city. It's gonna be like eighty six, Rob Parker, when you were reporting when Doc Goodin was on billboards. This is a sad day for Yankees fans their facial hair. That was a hail Mary. To try to create some relevance of like no one wants to play for the Yankees anymore. Cavino loves to talk about the pinch right pride and how people you know you want to play for the Yankees.
