Rob and Kelvin debate whether Josh Allen can afford to sit out in Week 18 and still hold off Lamar Jackson in the race to win NFL MVP and tell us why they have a big problem with people who keep giving Joe Burrow a pass for the Cincinnati Bengals being a mediocre team. Plus, Hall of Fame DB and FOX Sports Radio NFL analyst Rod Woodson swings by to discuss the NFL MVP odds, why he hates the idea of Eli Manning becoming a first ballot Hall of Famer, why he would put an asterisk next to Saquon Barkley if he breaks the single-season rushing record and much more!

I'm not eve gonna call you out? What you be doing?
Right?
No? It just makes no sense. No, say I didn't want to do it? Come get mad? Doesn't mad? It makes total sense? Does it make sense?
This?
It does? You want to go there? Let's go there? He comes in here, Alex and he looks at me and he goes so good delicious, and I look over like, oh, what does he got?
You know?
Did he go? Where'd he go? With restaurant? It's his little Marie calendar f feta chini pasta thing where he buys his own shrimp and puts the shrimp. The effort you have to go through to save that extra four dollars.
And ain't four dollars And this is like twenty dollars at a restaurant.
I'm not disagreeing.
I agree twenty dollars and I'm wind up paying a dollar seventy nine for the fredder chini the level rado right for rado whatever it is.
Yeah, and then the shrimp costs two dollars? Are you kidding?
It's it's a nice little snack that carries me over until dinner time.
I can't express to you, and I should not have listened to but I listened to Alex. You would have appreciated the New York Times Daily podcast and they did a whole thing on package and processed food. So it's just you know, dude, if you want to do that, we can stop everything. No, I don't eat well, we know you are listen. I don't eat hell, I don't act like i'm but you know you just if you like it, I love it. I just do. You bought the shrimp, you don't put the shrimp in there? Oh man, so good. You don't even offer any too. By the way, so good that man looked me in my eyes. Alex has said, so good, I'm looking like, oh he must be brought in something for us too.
He's not wrong, though, that same dishot cheesecakes twenty four bucks, he gets extra shrimp, which makes it thirty two.
And they gotta add it. They gotta relax, some of these places getting little carried away for noodles. By the way, the worst part about inflation is the it was a company with shrink flation. So it'd be one thing. Okay, fine, you're charging me mohire, I get it. Maybe get a price. Things are going on and okay, cool, you can't give me less. But that's what they're doing. Everything is smaller. You go get a burger somewhere. Everywhere had a fish sandwich the other day. It was a fish stick, wasn't it.
There's a guy who went viral said I paid seventeen dollars for this Wendy's meal and I'm eating a loan in my car. He's like, I could have went to Chili's for seventeen and.
Got the com the two for two whatever, take two combo whatever it isy. Yeah, No, it's gotten carried away because that and that's a real thing. Some people that come in the government officials are pushing back on Stree because you can't inflate and shrink flate, right, and that's what they're doing. And they're making us go, oh, you know, we're all going through inflation us too. Well, why am i the you know, the Ritz package coming four rows?
Now?
You're trying to give me three right, you know, and they're charging you more money, charging me more and giving me less. Now, that's very American of you. You're getting over on me.
All right, here's one thing that is definitely shrunk over the last.
We'll go to get to it quickly. Hurry on. Leave that out there. Don't leave that out there.
Now, See, Alex, you need to help Kelvin keep his job. You see what I'm saying, Like I'm I'm right, you.
Know what I'm saying. You can't set it up. Here's one thing that's shrunk over the last time. Hurry up.
I thought this was Rob Parker on that stand up night. I thought you were practicing. Oh no, I was too blue on my birthday, right, Rob g just a little bit?
All right, all right, here we go, all right, get to it. What's trunk?
So Josh Allen, as Steve de Seger said to us earlier, that he's gonna take the snap, so he could say that he started every game or whatever, but he might need to play in actually in order to win the MVP. And it's set up for the optics along with the stats. We already know what the stats are. We talk about him all the time now. If he doesn't play and Lamar beats up, the Browns wins the division and they were owing to to start the season, they.
Came all the way back.
Lamar had three touchdowns, rushed for one hundred and fifty yard one hundred some odd yards and star people gonna look at that and go man di Lamar.
Finished the season. Trong.
Yeah, this is a real thing, am I right? I mean you and you think Josh is gonna win. I think he is gonna win. I'm not playing in this last game. I think hurts him because of This is not a meaningless game for Lamar. It's an important must have win over the Browns in order to win the division.
There's something that's really on the line to play for. Now. Here's what's interesting about it. I thought about this, knowing we're gonna have this conversation, and I started to think that Josh Allen actually could hurt himself by playing in that. There's nothing to gain in that. Okay, he puts up one hundred and eighty five yards a touchdown, rushes for sixty maybe a touchdown, Ana beat New England pretty handily. Well, that's what we expected, that's what he was supposed to do. When should look better the last time he played the Patriots, he messes around and has another subpar game, messes around and has a horrible game. Messes around and let me say, has a Rod Parker extreme game. Yes, two to three interceptions, only eighty five passing yards and a fumble loss. There you go, that's a good game. R Yeah, there you go. That could mess around and hurt him in that. The last two sides, two of the last three times we saw you, you look bad, maybe look horrible, and you barely beat the Patriots. You know a couple of times. So he's in a position where if he's gonna go out there, well then he better go out there and be serious. Otherwise, to me, the only thing that he can do is actually leave a last bad last taste in him out if you will, if he plays. So, if he's going to play, which it looks like he is, yeah, I don't think he's playing though. I think Steve is just gonna kind of start, get a couple snaps and dip. Then that almost will leave it because I think that leaves the door open for Lamar. And I'm just talking about the optics, right. I get what you're saying. Lamar's game matters, he has a chance, his game has a lot on the line, and if he performs well in a game with a lot online, I get that. But I think if voters have already made up their mind or at least leaning towards it, Josh Allen can't hurt himself by not playing. I think the only thing that could happen is hurt himself. Like I said, you throw two interceptions, you fumble, and you don't just even if you win but barely against the Patriots and Lamar ball's out, three touchdowns, whether it be on the ground, passing whatever. To me, you can hurt himself. So I think Josh Allen going to take a snap or two dipping out actually won't hurt him because it'll be the last time I saw him. He won He look good, and that is that. Yeah, I don't know.
I mean, here's the problem, because it's not just this game. It's the last two games against the Patriots and Jets. Right, Like, his numbers aren't great, they weren't just one hundred and ninety one yards average, right, one hundred and ninety one yards, four touchdowns and one pick.
This is last two games. But that's that's what I'm saying. That's all.
But but here's Lamar's in the last two games Steelers and Texans, two playoff teams, six touchdowns, one interception, two hundred and forty two yards total yards per game. Like those are against way better competition. And now they play the Browns, who are bad. But this is for the division. It's a rival, it's a division game, right, and if he unloads and gets to four thousand yards, right, Rob G Mike, he could get four thousand.
Yeah, all forty touchdowns, and listen, the numbers aren't the narrative in the sense that I think Lamar has had the better numbers and can't be caught when it comes to the numbers, specifically with Josh Allen. There's some other people who, you know, if Joe Borrow wanted to jump in the discussion, But Josh Allen can't beat him statistically. But what he can do is have the better record. What he can do again is have that storyline of where people are just more interested in that. And I think Lamar again, I think it's Lamar's greatness has become the norm where it's normal. Like again last week.
I hear you when you say that, and it didn't stop Brett Faar from winning three m vps in a row.
I just I don't. I don't think that.
I think but said that, but he already has two.
You're making it like no, no, no, on the road like this is his first one. He already has you, so if he doesn't win, that will be a big thing that he already got two.
No, But I'm saying, like the whole I keep hearing about voter fatigue. Even Tony Romo on Sunday was like, well, he's Josh should win.
He's already want to. But this is what I'm telling you. That a voter though, thank god, that's why. But you know you don't think that's a I don't.
I don't think by writers because and I'm just I don't Barry Bonds won seven m vps.
I'm just trying to grady at like he was knowing something that was literally exception.
No, but people didn't just go, oh, well we voted for him last year, Well he was gonna vote for him again.
Yes, he's the best player. So since you've been covering this sport since nineteen eighty seven, somebody give me a dying because you know I had to get it in for you today. I beat you to it. Yes, I've been covering this league in nineteen eighty seven. Dan, we know you telling me Michael Jordan after all those years, only walks away with five. You don't think Karl Malone and David Robinson and some of those or whatever, you know, whereas I.
Think they had exceptional years that people looked at. And I'm not saying that you're not. Michael Jordan's not gonna win it every year. Lamar's not gonna win it every year. But you can't go and have the second or third highest quarterback waiting for a single season and act like that.
Doesn't mean anything because he won already. But you gotta also and I'm not everybody.
Everybody who's been on that who's put up the numbers he has has won the MVP except Patrick Mahomes because Aaron Rodgers beat him out in that same year. So here's what you that's what you're bucking. Here's what you're looking at, though, Rob.
They gave it to Lamar and they said, hey, man, the stats don't necessarily matter. Look at the impact. Look at the team. He lost all those running backs last year. He was doing it solo. They didn't have a dere came and they gave it to him, right, and they said, look at the record, look at the seeding, not the stats. They're gonna use the same logic against it this year with Josh Allen. They're gonna say, Josh has similar, not as good, but similar stats. He's on a team that we didn't have similar stats of what Lamar similar?
No, no, not one is a quarterback rating of one twenty one the other guys one hundred.
Right, and they're both gonna count for forty years touchdowns. Yeah, but that's not because one guy's gonna have like thirteen fourteen rush.
It's not the same like like like Josh Allen is like eleventh or twelfth quarterback were that's not the guy who's number.
What I'm saying twenty point anybody with like fourteen thirteen were the rushing touchdowns. That's crazy. And also in you know, have twenty something plus passing, so they're gonna have similar Again, here's the thing that nobody's talked about. Nobody.
Their kicker went through a bad patch and cost them three games.
Tucker.
Oh yeah, Like there's three games that he cost them.
One of the best ever.
But you could say, oh, well, Lamar's record against the Steelers. He missed like two or three kicks. Like go back to that game that they just lost. There's three games on their schedule that Tucker missed crucial field goals.
Not eighty yard field goals. You know what I'm talking. He had they for a minute, he had the years, He had the yps for a minute without a doubt. But at the end of the day, and that's a bad thing about being a quarterback. You get all the love and you get all the praise if things go wrong. But again, I just think I think the story has been written for Josh Allen. I think you're.
Gonna be way off on this and it won't even be close. I really, really, I'm convinced because the other guy who will get the votes will they course, and Josh Allen will be third.
That's where I'm at. Oh no, no, I definitely know that.
So do you think Lamar Mitchell, astute friend of the show here on Fox Sports Radio and the odd couple who has installed Josh Allen as a seventy percent favorite, is doing that just to lose money?
No, no, no, I just think they're gonna be wrong on us dropping you dropping the third. So I like, I like Louisiana Rubb on my wings, and then I'll take the other four or five. But you think I, just with the l is gonna be third. With the numbers, I just can't. There's no way in his past two thousands, No way, there's no dude. Derrek Henry had over two thousand, he got no votes. His team wasn't this.
Am I right?
Didn't get over two thousand A couple of years ago he didn't get any about to break through.
We're gonna be the offensive player of the year.
That's what for sure is gonna be all right eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven six sixty three sixty nine. Does Josh Allen have to play and play well? And week eighteen to hold off Lamar Jackson for MVP. We'll continue that conversation next with you. It is The Odd Couple on a Magic City Monday, Rob Parker kelvin Washington, right here on Fox Sports Radio, Stick and stay.

Tyre reck dot COM's gonna help you get there in unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free road hazer protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tire rack dot Com the way tire buying should be having a conversation about the MVP. Lamar Jackson obviously gonna play. It has a little out of stak trying to win the division against the Browns. But then you have, of course Josh Allen, who looks like he's gonna just play just to start. Does he need this game to stay in the MVP race or as the current leader at least by the vetting betting odds eight seven seven ninety nine On Fox what say you? Who?
We got Obi in Los Angeles showing the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up Obi Washington? So how are you great?
Thank you?
Josh Allen have a little bit of that because he plays on Sunday and.
Day oh, we lost your call. Lamar plays on Saturday, Josh plays on Sunday. Was his point that, uh, I guess, I guess where he was going? Was Josh has the last say, if you will, I get to see what you did, Lamar.
You put up three touchdowns. But they've already made their decision. You really think he's gonna play, Which is why I'm just saying, nobody made their decision. Josh Allen is the leader for a lot of folks. Yeah, but if not, if Lamar, Like Lamar got a go crazy though, Rob, he can't. Yes, he does. See what numbers did we talk about? Three touchdown two seventy five. He don't have to throw for five hundred to winning the division.
Not Josh Allen has clearly won his division and only and lost two fews.
So if he has to do what he's done the last two games, which is two forty two yards per game, three touchdowns, that's it.
So that's what you think he has to do. That's tell me that's more than Lamar like like me, No, okay, yeah, that's what he do. I that's an average game for him, which is a compliment to win the division. Though, you know what I mean. You keep saying that, like Josh Allen had his division on lock.
He's like a month and how Yeah, the only difference which division is tough for I'm just going then again, No, I'm gonna ask the divisions win.
The division this year?
Right, No, Buffalo wasn't no Baltimore pick win No, no, no, not when they started on two they weren't.
Right, But we're going back to the beginning of the season. I mean, yeah, yeah, you keep jump in the middle of the season, they were, they were expected to win, they were coming off a great season last year.
They could have beat the chance they were owing to Ninety one percent of the teams don't make the Super Bowl, I mean make the playoffs.
Ninety one percent don't make.
So does Matthew Stafford deserve credit because they were won in four and they want to know did you see it?
I'm just just I'm asking you.
Have you seen the way the last Wayman Wayman's Joe Burrow in the last two weeks. Matthewstad no touchdowns two weeks ago, he hasn't. He's been bad. So No, their their defense has been winning. Would you admit that?
Absolutely? Okay, that's all.
Yeah.
But but the point is Allen has won his division. Josh Allen has had these again. I keep saying these heightsmen like moments, and again I just think Lamar, it's so touchdown. I don't he got one under the ball was out. We'll see, We'll see what the carr who we got?
Man?
What's Connecticutte? You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Yeah, we're talking about mvper and Josh Allen has no real support and Lamar Jackson has the beast back there.
Did he win the m v P last year without the Dwayne Henry hen did he want last year?
I got running back? Okay, that's funny. I'm just asking.
Okay, but now he has Henry back there and it's helping him.
Out even more.
Do you remember they were owing to right to start the season? Remember that?
Yeah, Josh Josh Allen has no real support like Derrick Henry behind him. So it's it's m VP, it's most Valuable Player.
Okay, I mean, I just that's gonna be a narrative. Rod No, it's not absolutely only m v P.
That what Aaron Rodgers didn't have any players said that sometimes Dan Davonte Adams, who well, some people said that many times.
Matt Peyton Manning didn't have any weapon. He won five m VP. Come on, man, he had he had a ton of weapons. And it always, and that's my point. Every year there's a new storyline. What's the story for this person? Bert in Baltimore, you're in the Couple Radio? What's up you?
Hey?
I want to thank you guys on your new show this year. It's great you work at your buddy Washington over like a Brookern from.
Like a burger and five.
Thank you, Burt, no doubt more more should get.
The m v P. You were totally what you only guys have visions. Look our kicker, he said a trust he's awesome and still love him. But our defense, Lamar should be undefeated this year.
I settled down and you know what, Burt, Burt, he lost to Raiders and he had a lot to do with that too, Burt. Let's let me tell you this and and listen better, tell Bert, do you.
Remember when Lamar Joe Burrow had nine touchdowns against the Ravens defense?
And guess what the Ravens won both games because of Lamar, right, like a no mat at the defense.
Then just say you can't handle the truth, mister Washington, you can't handle truth. Let's just gets a football game of interest, and so it's football. Lamar has had an incredible year. He's against so odds.
They should be undefeated.
You want too far? No, thank you, mi caall we appreciate you. Bert, have a wonderful new man, Burt.
Bert.
You know what's funny is Calvin has been on this show like for months. Lamar Jackson's best player in football. I think he's the best pla. I think he's been a back to my own and now you're the anti Lamar guy.
I've been saying it exactly exactly. That's the best part about this, Rob Dans. I've said that to the point where people call it and say I'm crazy. Lamar is not the best player. I get on Twitter all the time. People will listen to our show. Lamar is not the best player. Are you crazy? I also just know people love storylines, they love narratives, they love all this other stuff.
They ain't always just simple and fun and best. Brett fav won three m vps. What was the narrative in the storyline?
Back then? The only people really up running were running backs? That was it? Mary Sanders, who should have got it. By the way, all right, we have Rob Woodson, who I'm sure we're gonna ask Rod about this. Just the moment. You already know what's Bert he already burned. I mean, he had the line of the night that I was working you over like a burger. Bert Bert once he said hour, That's what I knew what it was. He was. He's a raven fan. He said hour. And now that I know what it is, it's okay. Burt. I'm not mad at you. I'm a Lions fan.

And Steve Sacred, thank you so much. Steve Weird coming to you live from the Tirerack dot com studios. It is the hot couple, Rod Parker Kevin Washington on the Magic City Monday and join as we always saw on Mondays by our man, Rod Woodson, Hall of Fame dB, Fox Sports Radio, NFL analysts the man himself, Rod, what's up, brother, Ro? Happy Holiday? Is almost happy New Year too? How are you? Hey?
Hey? Wonderful?
Not as great as Lamar Man. He's bawling out.
Hey. If Lamar Jackson is nay league, do we lose him?
I say, I said again, Rod, you kind of went out, oh, I.
Said, I said that Lamar Jackson is not the MVP of the league. Shame on all the voters who vote for that position. That is absolutely be a shame a travesy. Listen. I know he's two time MVP and a lot of people don't like giving to guys multiple times in a row.
But he played.
He's playing better this year than he did last year.
And you know what, Rod, I don't like, but they voted Brett fahrv MVP three. I don't want to hear it. But I don't want to hear about that. I don't want to hear the guy who deserves it, Rod.
He will have the third best quarterback waiting for a single season right now. Aaron Rodgers has the first two and Patrick peyton Manny has a fourth.
And he's got some bad losses on this record that they're going to use again. And you know what, Rod, the other one is the kicker cost you at least three games. They don't know.
They don't know, did they sure did? He cost two games for sure. But you know about what he's doing throwing the football, and he doesn't have to do what he had to do in the previous years to run the football because you got Derrick Henry. But his position, his position of throwing the ball, not turning the ball over. I know everybody wants to get to give it to Josh Allen. Josh Allen, before this weekend, had twenty six touchdowns and six interceptions. Twenty six throwing. So in the previous years, we always rank quarterbacks on passing percentage, YEP, touchdowns, interceptions, right, I mean, if that's the case, Lamar had thirty nine going into the weekend and only threw four interceptions, and those four interceptions were like crazy, like flukes.
We had definitely I don't remember the fourth one, but the three all hit receivers.
First rot Yeah, the.
Fourth one was he was throwing it to one of the receivers crossing the field and he stopped. He threw it and went right into the hands of one of the DB's for the Steelers. But nevertheless, he should be the m v P. It shouldn't even be a question. He should be the m v P if you want to give Joe Burrow, because I think he should be an argument. But the team is not that good.
Maybe the you know, offensive m v P of.
The league, because that's possible.
Listen, he's playing lights on football. Just the team is not now. They are, they're hot right now, and if they beat the students, they need some help to get into the postseason. And I don't think anybody in the league wants the Cincinnati Bengals to get into the postseason.
He is Rob Woodson. Our guests, all right, what will be the bigger travesty, Lamar Jackson losing the m v P this year or Eli Manning becoming a first ballot Hall of Fame.
That's not even a question. This is my question. This is my question to both of you guys.
Okay, So when you're a player, are you.
A Hall of Famer because you have longevity and you you you kind of stacked the numbers because you start, or a Hall of Famer because you're one of the best players in the history of the game and you're one of the best players at your position each and every year for the vast majority of your career. He was never thank you.
Never did they line up and say, we got to worry about Eli. Was worry about Barber.
But Rod, here here's the thing, seriously, oh, here you go. Eli Manning is going to get in. You already see where he's progressing. Yes, he's going to Okay, and he is. Rod, have you at least do you accept that or you don't think he's still going to make it, because I think he's going to make No, no, no.
No, no, it's not it's irrelevant. What I think is get in or not, because more than likely he's going to get in.
Okay, Okay, okay, But here's my thing.
This is what I'm saying. The Hall of Fame has dwindled itself from the players who have gone in the last couple of years who used to be the best of the best of the best.
I agree with that now.
I agree with your statement because it's happening in all of the Hall of Fames. We've seen like Trace McGrady, who did you know what I mean, like a lot of players in baseball. They put Scott Rowland, who was a really good player for the Phillies and the Cardinals, but he wasn't one of the best players who ever played baseball.
I mean, so I see that.
Here's the case for Eli and why I believe he belongs in the Hall of Fame. He's tenth at all time and touchdown passes right, eleventh all time in passing yards. Okay, so he played, I get it, But you just because you play a long time doesn't mean that you get And then he beat that seventeen and old eighteen and old Patriots team, and he beat Tom Brady and the Patriots twice.
If he was so good. They went to the Super Bowl and their teams were nine and seven both times.
That's why I tell you this dude's record, he's mid. I tell him the envy mid. He is the envy mad. That's what he is, the middle of this thing.
Look, he's going to get in because of the last name, and everybody's pushing it. I mean, the Manning boys are the face of the NFL right now, and every commercial do everything for them there, and all the sports booking there there and everything. He's going to get in. I get it. I'm saying he's not worthy to get in, just and I don't normally say this. I don't. I normally keep all my opinions to myself, but this one is, he's never all So if you never all pro and you just stats over over the course of time, now you're one of the best ever, even though you want one of the best when you play.
But I hear you, but you never all Star. Also, I get your case.
I do, I really do, because when I vote for the baseball I'm a Baseball Hall of Fame voter, and and people talk about all the time with stats and all these other things. And if you don't win, like an m VP or Rookie of the Year and all that kind of s to froud, you know what I mean, It's hard for you to get a vote, right because that means you were the best player at some point during your career. The only thing that makes ELI different is every every quarterback except for Plunket, Jim Plunkett, who's one who's won two Super Bowls and has two m vps, all in the Hall of Fame, like all of them like that.
That's that's the projecting based off You're like a law degree of president.
So so so you're saying just because they messed up in the past, and you're saying, hey, they messed up and put some guys in the they they're not long, so let's just keep messing up and keep some more guys in it.
All right, Well, I don't think you're ever gonna solve this. We won't solve it. But I'm with you. Are you never the best? No defense ever worried about you, but you're a Hall of Famer. That makes no sense to me.
Rod, Where are you on the Saquon? I mean, obviously the Eagles have nothing to play for. He has, He's one hundred and one yards away, you know, I mean, do you put the I got.
Much respect for mister Barkley, I really do. And more likely if they playing, he'll break Edie's records. But he's not breaking Edie's record because he's doing it in seventeen games and Edi did it in sixteen games. So I just think you have to be real careful when we start breaking records when when more games are played, that counts towards your two numbers in previous years. So listen, I think they should Edie should have the record for the sixteen games, and if my man breaks his record, and he should have the record for session.
So O Jay should still have the record for fourteen games, correct, Yeah, under your okay?
So you would look at it as the amount of games you play.
Yeah, because it's unfair because in his sixteen games that he played the same as d he didn't break the record.
Right, and we would have had to break it to We totally get your point. We talked about that earlier. They only issued I have with that is it just gets weird in all sports. So Lebron is the all time leading scorer, but he had a luxury having three. We had no three for a first half of his career. So it gets weird in all sports if you really start to dissect it, you know what I mean, And.
So it does. It does. I'm just saying, let's let's keep everything with a caveat yeah, right, context, respect, respect the players and what they're doing in the day's game, but also respect the players, and don't say he's a leading rusher. But you got to always say it with a asterisk because I just think he do, because you can't say he's a leading rusher, and he will be if he plays, right, But he played seventeen games. You think he's going to play sixteen?
You think he's going to play or not? Like I give him think.
I think I think they're playing because I think everybody's about records nowadays. Everything everybody's about breaking something, getting something done for themselves, not for the betterment of their football team. For the better of the football team. You might not want to play, but I'm I'm okay. We're planning for a quarter to keep those juices going and all that and to get ready for the wildcard weekend. I'm good with that. But to you know, if he played the whole game, I would be a little concerned just in case the injury factors. But I don't think they're gonna setting for the whole game. I think they'd get my oppornit least for a quarter or a half to try to break the record.
I think he gets a half and the other thing real quick, like Josh Allen is going to just take a first snap so that he can continue his iron man iron man straight.
But he's not playing like that kind of defeats. Whether you're in you don't know. No, he's not gonna play. He's not gonna play.
I mean, but everybody has learned how to get around the record books, right, and that's that's a little it's a little disconcerting. But if you're a real sports guy, you know that that's not how you do it.
He is Rob Woodson many yes.
All right, I appreciate it, brother, Happy New Year guys in the m v P.

Let me rephrase that Eli shouldn't Okay, definitely will yep, all right, we appreciate it. Thank you for that. As always. Rod, Hey, you know what somebody speaking of a passer who's getting a pass that I'm starting to think maybe is a little too nice this past tell you who it is, Rob Parker kelvin Washington. Keep thirteen six if that holds, and we'll keep you updated on that. Steve de Seger coming up in just a little bit as well. I was thinking about this, Rob everybody's starting Michael Parsons, which I mean, I'm starting to feel like, is Joe Burrow on his Is he on the payroll for Joe Burrows? Because Michael Parson is sinking his praise is like crazy on his podcast and whatnot. And there's a handful of people we're saying, hey, Joe Burrow is the MVP. Joe Burrow is not the end. Well that's my thing. He's not the MVP because while he's having an amazing season, and he's throwing amazing yards, and he's leading the league, and you know so many statistics, when did we start giving passes the quarterbacks who teams were underperforming? Historically that's never been the case. Like you got Aaron Rodgers winning because his team's thirteen and three and twelve and four, and Peyton Manning and Brett Farve, you named some of those guys, and Tom Brady, when did we start giving passes? Me? Oh man of defense, Peyton Manning has some teams where we all went man, if this coast defense ever got good. This this coast defense ever got good, and that's what happened. They eventually got good and they ended up winning the Super Bowl. Who has a higher quarterback rating? Joe Burrow or Jared goff I'll wait, I'm gonna go Jered Goffins out the way you said it. I'm just saying. But but so when people say that joke because Borrow is the MVP, no he's not. He is having an amazing season as good as he's he's played really well, but he's not. He's not only because to me, I can't want you gotta find ways to win games, and that's literally what the MVP is. I know his defense isn't great, without a doubt, but Lamar Jackson's defense wasn't great the first half of the season, and his kicking was and he found a way to be sitting here at what eleven and five? You know there are Josh Allen's defense, mean the Lions put forty on their heads, forty forty two points. You're like, there are teams quarterbacks who've had bad defenses, are no running game or no special teams. You're telling me this person's MVP. Then you're supposed to be elevating them in spite of you know who, team wasn't great and can't score a lot and all that. At times, well, you know what, Patrick Mahoons finds ways to win. You know, throughout his career. We want the defense. Remember the defense wasn't great for the Chiefs those first half of his career. If you recall Patrick Mahomes, he was winning a bunch of games because he knew, all right, I'm gona have to score early and late, or I'm gonna have to I can't get field goals. Whatever it is, to me, Joe Burrow is absolutely deserving of a lot of flowers this year. He's playing out of his mind. But to me, the idea that he just would surpass Josh All and Lamar Jackson, Sakwan Barkley, Patrick Mahomes, or even Jared Goff, maybe even Sam Donald, It's like, man, these guys are finding ways to win in spite of everything. Jared Goff's defense is losing everybody, and they're finding ways to win. Am I wrong? They're finding ways to win. And so Joe Burrow is not a knocking him as much as do MVP is. Historically, they don't get it passed just because of something isn't perfect. The scenario isn't perfect.
Coming into this week when they finally won on Sunday, they will all win seven against teams games they winning right now, the record, right they won and seven. And here's the other thing. When you talk about like pass attempts he's got he's got like one hundred and sixty more pass attempt than Lamar, one hundred and sixty. Like like the pass attempts, he's got six hundred and six pass attempts.
Lamar has four forty two. Yeah, because it's like he's throwing on every down, yes, down, and every thing you down down and they let you pass the ball in front of you. And this is what I was gonna bring up. Man, you gotta look at the game. Matthew Stafford had some season where he put up crazy hones and was never considered for MVP. And in some of those, by the way, both robs he had better records than what, uh than Joe Burrow has. Right now, people looked at the.
Games and I covered all those games, as you know, and that's what was going on the lines with down twenty one to nothing and you're not gonna run the football, right, you're.
Not gonna eat cloth. He was airing that thing out and he just was throwing the ball up down. So Joe Burrow is spectacular. He's a heck of a quarterback VP. But the MVP talk has to slow down to me, because when did we start getting passes? Nobody Matthew Stafford again passes? You know, Carson Palmer was throwing up great numbers, didn't have great he wasn't getting passes, you know. Uh, Like I said, Patrick Mahomes for the first half of his Chiefs tenure, he's had to overcome bad defense. So they got good now. And that's kind of the main focal point. But my point is, and if somebody else got passes beforehand, but if it's about your record, and here's this is the one thing I disagree with you. When you talk about Josh Allen's record. Patrick Mahomes is fifteen what is he fifteen and one? And nobody said he's not even in consideration for MVP. Well he's not, no, but not a great season.
No.
But if you're throwing it talking about record, of course, and that's my point, record accompanies with the statistics of how you've played there, but the record can't be You can't say that it means that much because Josh Allen j has won two more games.
You know, Jared goferget That's why he's a lot of people had him in the running before the last loss of the Bills because of that as well. Cam Ward did what Fox Sports Radio
