I knew that, did you know that.
I'll start with the breaking news, and obviously Russell Wilson, who played last year for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is moving to the Big Apple. He will wear a Giant uniform. Yeah, and he will be the starting quarterback.
Yeah.
All the reports are that he will be going and that we should say, if you listen to the show.
I bought this up when his name was with the Giants, that the general manager and the coach are fighting for their.
Jobs, fighting for my life.
And it ain't that Jay can't draft a quarterback if it's your door or something, you know, like, but they need to re establish this organization and his team and that's why you go get a quarterback like this.
Seriously, that's what that's what this is. I mean, it's a weird to your point. It makes it weird in that it's just a one year deal. So the reports are it's finalizing a one year deal, ten and a half million dollar contract that can work its way up to well it's twenty one million, but you know how that ten and a half guarantee. You remember they signed Jason I mean Jameis Winston. Yeah, they got both. So they so now you got you know, Russell Wilson for another year to year point having that veteran.
Stability and could still be there and they could have that, but they don't have to rush the kid along, right.
And so you have two veterans. One is a Hall of Fame type you know, headed that way. This is scenes with Russell Wilson, then Jameis Winston, who is the great backup because you'll go, yeah, mean he gets a start, then you go, never mind, he ain't starting no more.
He throws four touchdowns and then throws four and say come on back here, come on back here, come on have a seat. Never mind, got a clip we got we got that grat a clipboard.
So no, this is but again this is in part of it is response to a couple of things happened over them for the last few weeks. Remember they were trying to figure out a trade to get Matthew Stafford, his brother in law's on the staff wanted more money from the Rams. Doesn't work out, sticks with the Rams, and so they don't get him, and then they're in the mix with Aaron Rodgers. Obviously he's played across the way there with the Jets.
In the other locker round the same building.
Yep, And so uh that's clearly on hold right now, is they're trying to figure this out.
Steelers seem to be the lead in this.
So for them, it was a matter of let's quit wasting time and go get a veteran quarterback, a guy we can at least sell to the ticket holders, we can sell to the fan base, and Russell Wilson, Well, they still figure out what they want to do with that third pick, if it's should do, if it's trading it, if it's whatever. What will be interesting is to get on a kind of serious note, if they would have draft should do, they would have gone from zero black quarterbacks in one hundred year.
History two three they didn't have zero. Am I missing?
Yeah, you're missing Geno? They had Geno for many year. You replaced Eli man. I forget that.
I to suspect Geno.
He'll be the phrase that the first to start to sell the you know, here's our franchise, the New York Football The New York Football Giants are handing the keys over to Feeling the blake.
If it's Russell it looks like it'll be Russell at this point.
But they I mean, you went from having Gino to you got three of them, now three That was.
Controversial with Gino Smith replacing Elive. I mean, I'm serious, from replacing you had a street going and he won two Super Bowls with that team, and he's right, he's an iron man. He was the guy face of the franchise in nearly two decades. And you go to Geno Smith, who ultimately will become a better version of himself. Now we would say, okay, Genos, Geno had a you know, a nice run the last few years, but at that time you like Geno Smith.
But yeah, that that part of is interesting.
They went from you know, again a hundred years having Geno to now having potentially three if they were to draft shouldure.
And and and let me tell you this, this is obvious. Okay, they got buried last year and embarrassed. They let their best always Okay, sa kwon Barkley and what did he do? He went down to their arrival in Philadelphia, won a championship and rushed for a gazillion yards. They looked foolish on that. Daniel Jones, who they picked in place of should in place of Uh. He doesn't even stay on the team. They cut him to pay him and he goes to Minnesota. Now he's moved on even from Minnesota to Indianapolis. So when you look at all this, what's his name, Joe Seine is how you say his name? The general manager, uh and Brian dave Ball their head coach. They're fighting for their lives. Okay, they were awful last year, just awful, and they decided it's nice we have a high pick. We could draft Shador Sanders and they could be wonderful, but we can't do that next year, Like that can't be the plan. We're going in with the rookie quarterback and hoping that it all comes together. So they had to go and secure themselves a quarterback that's.
Going to give some stability to.
The organization, give the organization a chance to get on its feet, satisfy some of the players.
Right, you talked about the.
Right, Yeah, I mean you gotta gratify some of these guys so that they can say, like, we're not buried here and this is another lost season that we're gonna have. We got somebody who has won a Super Bowl and went to two Super Bowl. So Russ comes in with some cachet. We know about Jamis Winstay. He's a great backup. We could just stop turning the ball over. He would be a starter in this league. And that's the reason he's not a starter. Turns the ball over too much. This does not surprise me at all. You mentioned it before, why they were in on Matt Stafford and why Aaron Rodgers' name was mentioned.
This was their plan. They wanted a quarterback.
And I have no issues with this, this idea of oh, just draft Shador and turn it over to him and let him. I know you could do that in certain situations, not this one I see.
The only the reason I push back on that is.
Because to me, even as a fan, if I see Chador and I see neighbors who work with Shador, if you know a couple of maybe a week or two ago, you had neighbors talking about him, He's like, yo, I love Chador.
We play. You know, we've we've practiced together, We've been around each other. I know him.
He's great and da da da da dah, and they have a great relationship they're building on.
He comes in and he does a rookie do rookies due?
We got more breakdowns, Steve Destega, Yes, what we got?
NFL Network reporting the Patriots are signing Texans free agent wide receiver Stefon Diggs three years, sixty nine million dollars. He'd had a recent visit to New England, including a physical. Stefan Diggs still going strong in the NFL. This guy had one hundred and seven receptions just a couple of years ago with Buffalo, only played half a season with Houston.
All right, So that sixty nine million guaranteed is nine guaranteed?
What I'm just so, that sounds like a lot of money right now. You gotta you gotta wait for it to come out. At least the Marussell Wilson thing, which was not a multi year deal. He's saying, Okay, about half of it is guaranteed.
Right, ten million, and then there's incentives and somebody might not get to I just looked at that sixty nine That's a lot for a guy missed most of the season. So I'm just trying to figure out how much it is. But thanks Steve for the breaking news there.
Yeah, I mean he's obviously still a good player, but that is a lot of money. We'll see woman again. Sixty nine million. I'm gonna go what forty five guaranteed?
No, I'm gonna say twenty nine. You think so, yeah, because maybe the last year might be you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, Yeah, I'm gonna say twenty nine.

Where I was going with this is to me, I think it looks worse if I bring in Russell Wilson, and I'm kind of selling you on man, we're right there. We got a quality quarterback, we got some receivers, we have a running group that's all right when you look at the collective. Individually they're not the best, but collectively they're okay. I think you can mess around and almost sell too much hope in that. I don't think they're gonna be that good with Russell Wilson and I don't think it's fully his fault. I just don't think they're they're ready to be good. So I to me think if I sold you on to Shador Sanders and he makes some waves, has a few splashes, like these other quarterbacks who've had thirty forty forty five stars have jayde and Daniel C. J.
Stroud, Bo Nicks h. There's a lot of guys who have flopped and been bad, but.
Lately there hasn't been a lot of too many flops.
Lately they've been rows in with there's a great I'm saying the last few years.
The guys who've gotten these literally thirty four come, we talked about them. They're they're they're balling, they're playing well because they're not getting that I was just a senior and I finally got my one year to start.
Difference is you gotta remember this is about trying to survive. You have a coach and a general manager who's in a bad spot.
But what I'm hearing me out, let me finish by my thought because I get you saying. My My only point is I think it looks worse if you start off with Russell Wilson. You sold this hope he got a veteran guy and you end up one in five. Whereas if I'm two and five with your door, but we're going somewhere, I see some I'm like, I'm I'm optimistic as a fan, like, all right, baby, here we go. We're two and five, three and five something like that with your door. Then if I see Russell and it looks like the end of the Steelers, it looks like what it was with the Broncos, I'm like, ah, to me.
That get out of it. I'm tired of this is the best you can do.
And I'm get because you're being optimistic with Shador. And I'm just saying, like, you know, when Russell Wilson first showed up in Pittsburgh after the injury, he played really well.
That's a good team, cause you know what I'm saying, that's a team that happens saying.
He played really well.
He could throw the ball downfield, there's a long half piece off he could still play. And all I'm saying to you is I understand this totally. You don't under you think it. You just should be draft Shador and hope that for all the best.
Yeah, you got James got you gotta gotta think this perfect back up your door and we're ready to But again it only costed of ten and a half million, so I'm not mad at it.
And if he doesn't play well and shador after he gets under his feet, then you could go to him. You got your starting quarterback for the future. He doesn't have to start the clock. The guys who have gone to the Hall who could go to the Hall of Fame or is going to the Hall of Fame sat for three years now.
I'm not talking about him. I'm not get that theory for him. I'm talking about for them.
But Mayding I can.
I can sell more on Hope than I can sell on Stale. Russell wills to have them for one and five. It's great to have him.
But the Giants after last year, I just think they had to re establish I mean their team, say for them being the eighty five Bears, I don't know what they're gonna.

My only point was I just think if it starts off bad, I just think we were talking about saving their jobs, the coach and GM. I just I think that you're selling the false hope. I don't know, because if you start off with a that's the possibility, are you and five not? Now, we got to get rid of these guys. They don't know what they're doing, that wasting shaudure. Hey, guys, I think that this is a good move because number one, I don't think Shaudor Sanders would be the number two pick in any normal draft. I think this is like the Porsche SUV effect. It's a portion in name only Shudor Sanders. If his last name was Smith, we wouldn't be talking about anything like that. He's more of Mac Jones than anything. But I think what they should do is they should get They should go ahead and get Jalen Milroe the second round. That way, you start Russell Wilson, you turn to Jalen Milroe whenever you need to, and if he doesn't work out, he's a second round pick. Go ahead, get a quarterback next year? Well ahead, your bet.

Hey, Hey guys, I'm a Giants fan, so I just wanted to say this Russell Wilson signing is the best signing that they've made in a super long time. Guys like people that aren't Giants fans will sit here and tell you this is a horrible signing. And the Giants are still gonna win four games. There was a lot of games the last two years, since twenty twenty two the Giants one would have won if they had anyone else the quarterback. That wasn't Jones or Taylor or de Vito.
No, they haven't had a quarterback a good one, and Russell Wilson kept one on purpose.
He got off to a good start.
Things didn't finish the well, but he played relatively well and we can look at his numbers if you want to see where he finished.
I don't think he's trashed nobody like.
Because early on he was throwing a ball all over the card and.
That's that's you would like. It's denk or deep. He can't the intermediate that you know, seven twelve off, that's it. But perfect deep balls, Yeah, that's his thing for sure. Now we got the baseball update on Mookie Betts, though he is playing in the exhibition finale tonight, the Dodgers shortstop finally returning after illness Monday, who was finally able to keep some solid food down. He missed all the games they played overseas and had very long flights there and back. He was sick even before the trip to Asia. His manager says he's hoping for Bets tonight to take three at bats against the Angels and play four to five innings at shortstop. Betts expects to be in the starting lineup for the home opener against Detroit on Thursday tomorrow. He is going to be playing a simulated game and the Dodgers will see where he is physically. Meanwhile, the Dodgers say President Trump, in keeping with long standing baseball tradition, as invited the twenty twenty four World champs to the White House when they play in DC April seventh. Quote, the Dodgers look forward to visiting the White House and celebrating our title. And then the next day members of the Dodgers will be visiting Capitol Hill. As for the NBA, tonight, Detroit under way up eighteen fourteen early on the Spurs, but Kay Cunningham of the Pistons is out again with a sore caft he did not play on Sunday. Golden State about to start at Miami. That's Jimmy Butler back in Miami. Steph Curry is out again pelvit contusion after the fall. Recently, Memphis is at Utah nine pm Eastern Time for the Grizzlies. Job Morant missing a fifth straight game with a sore hamstring. Nikola jokicch of the Nuggets, doubtful with the bad ankle for Wednesday, could be missing a sixth straight game. Saint Francis, which just played in college basketball's first four, says it will move all of its athletic programs to Division three in twenty twenty six because of the changing landscape of Division I athletics. And Yes, the New York Giants are signing quarterback Russell Wilson. The Giants already recently signed quarterback Jamis Winston. The Patriots are signing wide receiver Stefan Diggs. Stanford fired football coach Troy Taylor after constant behavior problems toward coworkers. Multiple employees had filed complaints. Age was made by Stanford's new general manager, Andrew Luck.
Back to you and Steve, you know this the Dodgers tradition.
And there was a big controversy when Jackie Robinson's feature was taken down, was taken down, and so I wonder why this administration right, And that's what I'm saying with the Dodgers and and nobody embraces Obviously Jackie Robins is a hero to everybody, But the Dodgers would have franchise to break through. And you know how much they loved Jackie Robinson and Rachel Robinson, who's still alive, who's amazing at one hundred and two years old.
Have you seen her? She's amazing.
She she's still beautiful at one hundred and two. But I wonder if there was a little about about given what Harry very, let's have this conversation.
Yeah, I mean, there's a longer conversation we had because, as you know, the very prideful organization, and you're never gonna beat a hundred because some people would.

League, no doubt, because any little, small, biggest moments in this in the history of his contract, especially the way this country loves baseball, especially then too, yes, and.
Also the way this administration has gone at things has been let's sell shall we say, ham fisted And they typed in a search of first and say, oh, he's being highlighted because he was the first African American. Let's delete that. And then a baseball reporter finds that Jeff Pass and said, are you kidding me? This is related to his military service in the military department site and the whole point of that section was sports heroes who had been in the military. And then you delete Jackie Robinson.
Arguably the biggest one, arguably crazy, the guy who.
Was court martial because he wouldn't sit in the back of the military bus.
Crazy. You know what I'm I was going, We're gonna do but I want Steve cooking. We're gonna do this to breathe.
We got to just keep you're giving them groceries, keep cooking, Stevey all right, comedy laugh for the.
Tie right time to we got Yeah, if we're gonna get you some time.
You heard the conversation from me, They get a little seriously, I know, even probably have some thoughts on that.
Just the idea that, you know, after what they did to Jackie Robinson that the Dodgers are going to the White House now from how are you?
I'm good man? Yeah, that's a you know, it's it seems like a black guy on the black eye. Right, it's just tone deaf. I think when people start blending you know, you know, smart decisions with with political uh issues or whatever, then you get dumb answers. And so I think it was a it was a disgrace number one. Uh.
And they had to put it back even they had to put it up from you know what I.
Mean like oh god, weep, Yeah, stupid with super does That's just that's just reality of the situation. And you know, uh, sometimes you we get people to benefit of the doubt, like they may be one of the smartest in the room, and then a lot of times we find out that there's no one smart in the room. Uh. And there you have it, no doubt.
All right, let's go there in the big news of the day, Russell Wilson going to the New York Football Giants from I think it's a good uh pick for the Giants. They need to re establish this franchise. And even if they do draft Shador. It takes the pressure that he doesn't have to start from day one. Where are you on this signing?
Yeah? I think this was what they needed to do, especially coming from an organization that we've seen make era after talking about mythsteps man grave missteps, you know, for the whole world to see and then to see, uh the ramifications of those missteps, and in terms of sa Kwon Barker as the leader of that football team going off and leading the team to the Super Bowl championship, it doesn't get any more blatant in terms of maybe some people shouldn't have their jobs who are making decisions. But moving forward, this is to me, this signing brings a little bit of stability back to the locker room and to that quarterback room, something they desperately have needed for over a decade.
Now, what are your expectations?
I mean, obviously, certainly they can maybe make another move or two, but you kind of saw what They have a group of running backs, not necessarily one stalwart. Obviously they have neighbors, an incredible receiver twelve hundred yards even miss games probably would have had another four or five six hundred yards.

What do you think Russell's able to do is just just to stop Gabbert. Can he come in there and really have some success based off what you saw with him and the Steelers last year.
Well, whether he has success or not, it's still a stop gap. In my opinion, they should draft Shaduer with the third pick in the draft. I think him coming in and learning under someone like Russell Wilson who forged away and had ultimate success in this league. I think that would only be a benefit for Shadur. The one thing you don't want is to have that type of pressure on Chaduur to come in and have to save a franchise right now. I don't think that's beneficial for either the Giants or him in terms of a player. So I think you've addressed them now and now if you draft shaduor you've addressed the future. And I think teams have to start, especially them, have to start looking at it like that.

This isn't a one move, fix everything type of situation. There's some things that have to be developed and have to come into place for this organization to get back on track, and in my opinion, that would be They took the first step with Russell Wilson, and then the second step would be to get your quarterback for the next twelve years and shaduor Sanders He.

It happens, but you know, it makes him feel good. He feels one. He's there. If this thing works, he has an opportunity to make more of that money. If it doesn't, they can get out without it being held over their heads.
I'm looking at cam Ward and the expectations that the you know, you have some reports out there, Adam Schefter saying Titans have sold right, they're sold on him.

A lot of people are hit big on him, big arm, played a lot of football. You know, can it can produce at a high level. Some people still a little If he was another draft he might not be this great. Where are you and cam Ward, and specifically the Titans with where they are? Is just the right pick for them?
Well? I think it is. I think you have to start addressing the quarterback situation when you can. Right there isn't a lot of we'll wait and see what happens next year or the year after that. You don't want to find yourself in a perpetual free fall. Uh So, cam Ward to me, is game ready. He is day one ready coming into a system. He's played a lot of football. And what we're seeing now is these young players, the rookie quarterbacks coming into the that have played a lot of football in college are more inclined to come in and have early success in the NFL. I think, you know the thing about it, We're seeing it happen in basketball as well. Guys in Io's making guys stay in college and so when they get to the professional level, they're seasoned. They know how to, you know, to deal with not only the money and the same and the things that come with it, but they're ready to play because they've had a lot of experience at the highest level at the college level. So I think it bowls well for Tennessee to answer that question that they've been trying to answer since maybe Borderline almost Ryan Tannehill, I because they were the number one see with Ryan Tannehill, but a lot of that was Derek Henry no longer there. So to get that running back that can be the Derrick Henry for them is something that they should be looking at as well to help cam Ward and his journey being the face of the franchise for the next twelve years.

These games are imperative. We're running down to about twelve games left in the regular season, and you do need to have your star, your group, your core five playing at a high clip. Must start happening now. In their defensive efficiency, which was tops in the league since January, has now dipped down to around eight or ninth in the league, and they can't survive that. They need to keep that defensive efficiency and effort. It's all about effort and lack of tur and and cut down on the turnovers to get this team back to where they were prior to all the injuries.

Was down for a while and you know, obviously a lot of pain, and just yet the day before everybody was having the conversation about her and Jade and Daniels and his mom kind of you know, coming in the middle of them having fun with it.

We're all having a little fun on social media about where they flirting with each other or not or is it just are they just friends? And that was like a cute, little fun story. Then the next day or two, booms, she's down down for the season. Had an incredible sophomore season, breaking all types of records. First Team, this first team, that Big Ten Player of the Year, I mean, just doing what Juju has done twenty five a game looks amazing. And so it was difficult because you know, there's Page with Yukon, you got Lauren Betts with UCLA, you got some some player that flows in a with LSU, some more, you know, other players out there, but Juju, Juju, she's the face of college basketball, women's basketball, arguably college basketball, including the dudes, and to see her go down, it just took the wind out of the cell, not only for the Trojans, but just for women's college basketball, like oh man, because you were looking forward to her getting to the Final four, competing on a big stage, you know, and listen sports and these stars and if you especially an't have his basketball, yeah, and you look at all the success they had in twenty twenty three, then that goes incredibly. I mean you look at there was an eighty nine percent jump in the national championship game from twenty twenty three twenty twenty four. Of course when we had Caitlyn and Iowa l s U all right, South Carolina, I'm sorry. And so now the ratings everybody was concerned ROW are gonna go down this year.
There's no Kaitlyn.
There's no Ancel Reace, there's no this, there's no that. There's no drama, you know, per se, And that's not the case. They're putting up all these numbers right now, and they've done pretty dug on.

The numbers her games went through the roof because she didn't play as a normal women's basketball player.
Now she was doing stuff we hadn't seen.
