In a ground-breaking achievement for South African and African music creators, Thando Nyameni, Chairperson of Music Creators South Africa (MCSA), has been elected to the Executive Committee of the International Council of Music Creators (CIAM).
This marks a historic milestone as Nyameni becomes the first African member to serve in this role since CIAM’s founding in 1966.
His election not only reflects his outstanding leadership in the South African music industry but also underscores the growing influence and recognition of African music creators on the global stage.
With Nyameni’s appointment, the voice of African musicians will be amplified in international discussions about music rights, creator protection, and the future of the music industry worldwide.
