The CEOs of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund (NMCF), Dr. Linda Ncube-Nkomo, and the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital (NMCH), Dr. Nonkululeko Boikhutso, invited the public to the annual Children’s Celebration Fun Walk, an event more than just a fun walk; but also, a heartfelt tribute to Nelson Mandela's legacy of celebrating his birthday with children.

Dedicated to honoring and celebrating the joy, resilience, and boundless potential of children, this event also aims to raise awareness and support for vulnerable children across South Africa.


The 5km walk began at the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital, with a route that winds through meaningful landmarks, culminating in festivities at the Johannesburg Zoo.

Sponsored by Nedbank, the 2024 Children’s Celebration is a gathering of partner organizations funded by the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund and is open to the public.

His first foray into professional acting was in the production "Our Cry" by Get Down Productions, written and directed by the late Paul Rapetsoa and produced by Matome Rapetsoa.

On Skeem Saam, Mahlatse brings to life the character of Letetswe Kunutu, the friendly, opinionated, and outgoing son of Charles Kunutu.

Letetswe is known for his strong family values and his protective nature towards his cousin, Mahaltse Kunutu.

Mahlatse's journey to securing this role began with an audition in September 2021, and the moment he learned he had been cast, it was one of the happiest moments of his life.

With nearly a decade of acting experience prior to his big break, Mahlatse exemplifies dedication and perseverance.
