In 2012, Senior NSW Fire & Rescue Firefighter Peter Cooke attended a massive apartment complex fire in Bankstown where two young women had to jump from the 5th floor to escape, killing one and gravely injuring the other. A couple of years later he would attend a very similar fire in Villawood, where people were hanging out windows and screaming as smoke and flames engulfed the building, and went on to rescue a mother and son from a third floor balcony ...
