AFASA in the Eastern Cape says the people who are interdict the export of sheep are not farmers. the NSPCA is removing bread from the table of emerging farmers

View descriptionShare

We spoke to the NSPCA earlier about the 50 000 live sheep that are being loaded on a ship to be exported to Kuwait, in the Middle East. The NSPCA says the conditions do not meet the guidelines on exportation of live animals by sea. The organisation failed to interdict the process and those sheep will be leaving the country soon. The African Farmer’s Association of South Africa in the Eastern Cape is helping in facilitating the export for an emerging farmer in the province and they want to clarify some details. We’re now joined by Lundi Kama, Chairperson of AFASA and Thobeka Mdakane, Secretary of AFASA in the Eastern Cape.
