The Commissioner of the Border Management Authority, Dr Michael Masiapato has announced that the BMA port health officials have developed an outbreak preparedness plan that outlines the response in dealing with MPOX. The current response plan has been activated to respond, since 13 cases have been confirmed by the National Department of Health. Unathi Dulwana from the Eastern Cape has built a social media platform called JusTrend. This is an app which Unathi and team intend to get the continent to be proud of being African by putting proudly South African & African content, in our languages and exposing South Africa and Africa's stories without conforming to platforms whose main influence comes from outside of Africa.

The app is live on Google Play Store for now. It has features which include: stalkers (commonly known as followers in other platforms), likes, comments as well as PhoTrend (Photos) and MoTrend (video) capturing and uploading which we call Pho Mo.
