The ANC’s Secretary General, Fikile Mbalula has reiterated President Cyril Ramaphosa’s position that the party disagrees with the SACP’s decision to contest the 2026 municipal elections independently. He also made it clear that the party will continue to engage the socialist movement on this issue even though it has made its stance clear on the matter. Mbalula revealed this during the ANC’s press briefing that took place this afternoon.
