Earlier today, the Statistician-General of South Africa, Risenga Maluleke, released the results of the Victims of Crime report. The report provides information about the dynamics of crime from the perspective of household and individual victims of crime as well as public perceptions of crime and the individual’s feelings of safety. According to the latest report, household crimes in South Africa increased in the 2023/24 period as compared to the previous year.
