Recently Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane was heavily criticised for taking leave in order to be with his two sons who are undergoing traditional initiation (ulwaluko). Today we hear from Mkhululi Ndamase who is of the view that Mabuyane should in fact be applauded for putting his family first, arguing that fathers, uncles, guardians and other men should spend time with initiates instead of abandoning them.
