The Information Regulator held a press briefing earlier today to share the progress and developments of the Regulator’s work since the beginning of their financial year in April 2024. One of the major outcomes from this presser is that the Electoral Commission of South Africa, the IEC, does not have adequate controls in place to protect the confidential personal information it receives.
