Alongside the iPhone 16 announcement this week, Apple also announced that their Air-Pods Pro 2 will also feature a software-based Hearing Aid capability. This is part of an industry wide initiative by consumer electronics makers to make hearing assistance more accessible.

Yesterday, the Presidency confirmed that President Cyril Ramaphosa will sign the Basic Education Laws Amendment (Bela) Bill into law on Friday. There’s been a lot of push back from political parties and civil society based on what those individuals and organisations believe the bill intends to change. SECTION 27 put together a fact sheet that debunks myths around the implementation of the BELA BILL.
