Biggest Bets of 2024: How an 85-Cent Bet Almost Won $147K

View descriptionShare

In this Morning X segment, Barnes, Leslie and Crash dive into the wild world of sports betting, breaking down some of the biggest wins, losses, and absurd wagers from the past year.

Key highlights:

  • Insane Bets: A bettor placed $11,255 on Caleb Williams going first in the NFL draft, only winning $56. Another risked $3.1 million on the Eagles, barely escaping with a $442,857 profit after a near-touchdown by the Panthers.
  • Longshot Wins: A $5 NBA parlay predicting exact first baskets hit for $113,500. Even crazier, an 85-cent, 14-leg parlay could have paid $147,000, but the bettor sold his ticket early for $16,750—only to watch it hit.
  • Big Losers: A Patriots Super Bowl bet at 5,000 to 1 ($200 wager) was wiped out in days after a loss to the Colts.
