Australian singer Sheldon Riley, known for performing on X Factor, The Voice and representing Australia at Eurovision 2022, has auditioned for American Idol. The Melbourne artist performed without his signature masks and costumes for the first time in years, singing Matt Corby's 'Brother' and receiving praise from judges Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan. Riley discusses his decision to shed the elaborate costumes that had become a security blanket and compete authentically on the American singing competition.
