A passenger died and six people were injured in a three-car collision on Hopkins Road in Truganina in Melbourne's west just after 9pm. Emergency crews responded to the scene where one person was pronounced dead and six others were hospitalised with varying degrees of injuries. Three of the injured sustained life-threatening injuries while three others suffered serious injuries.

Injectable weight loss drugs like Ozempic and Monjaro may be added to Australia's pharmaceutical benefits scheme as early as next year. Federal Health Minister Mark Butler has confirmed the government is considering subsidising these GLP-1 medications for weight loss, which could make them significantly cheaper for thousands of Australians. Currently, around half a million Australians use these injections, but only those with type 2 diabetes qualify for subsidised prescriptions.
