Women for Change Calls on the Presidency to Declare GBVF a National Disaster; Petition Handover and Peaceful Demonstration to Take Place on 11 April 2025

Women for Change, in coalition with multi-sectoral stakeholders, including activists, businesses, and civil society organisations, will gather at the Union Buildings on Friday, 11 April 2025, to demand that the South African government formally declare Gender- Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) a National Disaster. On the same day, representatives of Women for Change will hand over a petition signed by over thousands of South Africans to President Cyril Ramaphosa, reflecting the nation's unified call for decisive action.
