The solar eclipse will reach its peak today around 3:18 p.m. Almost 92 percent of the sun will be blocked by the moon over much of Central Pennsylvania. 

Doctors stress people should not witness this rare astronomical event with the naked eye. 

Because of the timing of the event, some school districts have announced plans for remote instruction, early dismissal, or are closed.
