Pennsylvania plans outreach efforts about how the election process works

With questions swirling about new methods of voting and large turnout expected for the presidential election, the Shapiro Administration is asking to spend more on voting education efforts. The ACLU is suing a central Pennsylvania county to gain more access for the public to observe vote counting. A central Pennsylvania county is warning voters about a new scam asking about their registration. Transparency advocates are criticizing the group that oversees how county governments are spending hundreds of millions of dollars coming to them from opioid settlements.
Authorities say eight teenagers in northeast Philadelphia have been injured in another shooting involving a city bus. The head of the National Transportation Safety Board says the decision to blow open five tank cars and burn the toxic chemical inside them three days after a Norfolk Southern train derailed near the Ohio-Pennsylvania border last year wasn't justified.
