Hot enough for you?; Lancaster County school board rejects religious liberties law firm

Central Pennsylvania will be under a heat advisory from noon until eight p.m. Friday.

Wastewater from oil and gas drilling has been used as a road treatment for decades in Pennsylvania because it’s a cheap way for drillers to get rid of the waste and for rural areas to try to control dust. Some lawmakers now want to enact a ban. 

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is giving  $10 million to housing counseling agencies across the nation. Around $479,000 is going to Pennsylvania.

The Biden Administration has finalized new minimum staffing requirements for nursing homes. While some advocates say the new federal rules will improve safety for older residents, nursing home operators note the current nurse shortage will make it hard to comply.

A Lancaster County school board has voted against placing a contract with religious liberties law firm Independence Law Center on its voting agenda.
