Gov. Shapiro to unveil budget plan, and a protest against state investments in Israel bonds ends with arrests in the Pa. Capitol

View descriptionShare

Governor Josh Shapiro will deliver his budget address to a joint session of the House and Senate early this afternoon. More than 100 people protesting the state government’s investments in Israel have been taken into custody in the Capitol Rotunda in Harrisburg.  Two parents are suing the Hazleton Area School District in Luzerne County, alleging its at-large voting system dilutes Latino voting power. A controversial proposal to allow camping at a new state park in Chester County has been taken off the table — for now. The Pennsylvania state courts agency says some of its online systems are disabled after its website was hit by a weekend cyberattack, but that the attack didn't appear to compromise any data. The balance of power in the state House is at stake next week for the fourth time in a year.
