According to a recent investigation by The Outlier, the country's diamond production has declined. Diamond mining, which has historically played an important role in the economy and lifestyles of many people around the country, is facing challenges as production has just reached a decade low .Despite the downturn, reinvestments by one of South Africa's largest diamond firms, as well as advancements in the electricity and logistics sectors, provide hope for a rebound.
