First things first, however, you may have noticed a new look a haircut from my lovely wife for the first time. First time cutting my hair. She was nervous, there's no doubt about it. But she delivered through the nerves despite the fears and doubts that we're penetrating her mind. And here she is cutting my hair just as brilliantly as someone would at Fantastic Sam's. And all it needed was a thirty five dollars purchase on Amazon dot com. First, haircuts aren't are expensive these days, they are not cheap. So the fact that she cut my hair for thirty five dollars a little purchase, and next time she can cut my hair with the same thing, we're gonna be saving a lot of money. I only get like three haircuts a day or a year. But the fact that she could cut my hair and look as good as it does as someone who does it professionally, easy money, good win for our family. So that's why I'm looking much better this morning because of my wife and the haircut that she gave. All right, as far as the Minnesota Vikings conversation goes, I saw someone post the other day that the Minnesota Vikings may have gotten exposed against the Detroit Lions because they lost thirty one to nine, And I want to push back against that thought because although the Minnesota Vikings got destroyed, I am on record all week saying that the Minnesota Vikings matchup against the Lions, although they lost by twenty two points, was much more close than the score indicated. If the Minnesota Vikings could put together points in the red zone on two failed fourth down conversions, we're looking at an entirely different ballgame if they converted some of those field goals into touchdowns. I mean, there's a lot of ifs in my conversations, and I try to be weary or very aware of the amount of ifs that I use, because ifs and nuts are candy and butts or whatever they're saying goes.
If is if, and if is not reality.
But at the same time, what isn't typical is four red zone appearances and zero touchdowns. So it's not like I'm saying the Vikings scored three touchdowns, they could can still go once. It's not like I'm saying, well, if the Vikings didn't kick a field goal one so well, then they would have been right in that game. It's a completely different scenario. They got to the red zone four times scored zero touchdowns. You can use if in that situation because the likelihood that they go to the red zone four times again and scores zero touchdowns.
Is very low. It's not gonna happen again.
So the Minnesota Vikings did not get exposed. And I think some of the argument is coming from the Detroit Lions heavy blitz package versus Sam Donald flustering him and getting him happy feet or making him uncomfortable. But you take a look at this statistic and it will prove that Donald and the Vikings offense did not get exposed.
Says right here.
Donald was ten of twenty three against the Blitz for one hundred and twenty two yards in the pass the writing of sixty point four But against the blitz from week one through week seventeen, Donald had a completed sixty two of eighty seven passes for eight ninety six eleven touchdowns, zero interceptions and a passer rating of one hundred and forty four. So all season up until this point, Donald had been brilliant against the Blitz, and for some unknown reason, Donald against the Blitz against Detroit held out to the ball much longer than they had the first seventeen weeks of the year. But I'm gonna go back to this huge talking point. Sam Darnald has never ever ever sniffed the playoffs as a starting quarterback in the NFL, was nowhere close with the Jets, nowhere close with the Panthers, and was a backup with the forty nine ers. So Arnold has never ever played in a playoff atmosphere in the NFL, where nerves are different, adrenaline is different. It's a completely different situation. And I just can't stop thinking of how positive it is for the Minnesota Vikings to get a playoff experience in a Week eighteen football game right before the playoffs started. So going into the playoffs, despite not having prior playoff experience with any other NFL team as QB one, Sam Darnold just got playoff experience in Week eighteen versus the Detroit Lions. And it wasn't win or go home, you lose, you play the wild card game, and now you're even better prepared for that game because of the experience that you just took away from the matchup against the Detroit Lions. So huge advantage Minnesota Vikings and Sam Donald and I want to take something from my good old friend Aaron.
Rodgers R E. L A X. Relax. You need to relax right now.
And it's so funny because the Minnesota Vikings beat the Packers and everyone is going insane of we're going to the Super Bowl, signed Sam Donald forever, like, let's take this guy and let's make a run again next season and went back to back Super Bowls. Everyone's off their chain, they're going nuts. And where was I? I'm right here, right here, right in the middle. The Minnesota Vikings lose to the Lions, and what's everybody saying? Ah, the season's over.
Donald, let him walk. He played terrible.
Now the Vikings are gonna lose against the Rams, and oh my goodness, hell is freezing over.
In the minute the Vikings organization And where am I?
I'm right here the exact same place I was after the Minnesota Vikings defeated the Green Bay Packers. So it's so funny because I was called not a fan. I wasn't a real fan because I didn't like the locker room celebration after the Vikings beat the Packers.
But what am I now?
I don't see anyone bashing me now for not being a real fan?
What am I now?
The Minnesota Vikings lost against Detroit by twenty two points, It'd be pretty easy to jump out of the bad wagon and say, Sam Donald Kenn, he's a scam. Uh. I'll be right where I was after the Vikings be the Packers. It's not the end of the season. People get too high and people get too low. It's nice to have a little objective center, Huh. It's had to have an objective center where you can analyze and examine facts about each and every game, facts about scenarios, and not just buy in based on the million Minnesota Vikings great performance and not just sell because the Minnesota Vikings played a poor game against the Detroit Lions on the road where Detroit's fans were going crazy and a tough environment to play, So we need to r e l a X. Vikings need to relax, fans need to relax, and the organization needs to relax right now. Darnold played poorly against the Lions. Wide open receivers, wide open receivers, wide open receivers, and some of them he missed with overthrows, and some of them he didn't even attempt to throw it. Addison wide open twice in the end zone, didn't throw in the ball. Naylor wide open in the end zone, didn't throw in the ball. It happens. It is a poor performance and a high pressure environment. And Donald struggled just like most quarterbacks struggle in their first playoff experiences. And this was a playoff experience in a regular season matchup. And now he's going to take that experience and move forward with it.
So I think it's all good things. Donald.
Remember, had completed sixty two of eighty seven passes for eight hundred and ninety six yards, eleven touchdowns, zero interceptions, and it passed the rating of one hundred and forty four in Week one through Week seventeen against the Blitz. He's been great all season long. He's been one of the best all season long. Against the Blitz, he had a bad day against the Lions. Remember Donald, up to this point, what high pressure situation has he played in besides being in the New York Jets market, he hadn't played in a playoff game. He hadn't played in the game to make it to the playoffs. The Jets stink, the Panther stink and use a backup with the Niners. Vikings are good. He's stinked it up against the Lions. Take that experience and use it moving forward. I guess the Los Angeles Rams and the rest of the playoffs. I actually like the Minnesota Vikings chances to beat the Rams on Monday Night football, and there'll be a full preview coming up soon on Friday or Saturday. But I don't think it's the end of the world, and I do think Aaron Rodgers' Rodgers Aaron Rodgers's advice of relax.
Is very prevalent right now.
Because it was one game, one per performance, a lot on the line, but because there was a lot on the line, there was a lot of experience to be gathered and learned.
