A new restaurant for Auckland's CBD, inside the new Faradays Luxury Department Store.  

Josh and Helen Emett are opening their third CBD restaurant, called Lottie's, inside the multi-purpose development.  

The high-end space will open on Queen Street next month, seeing global brands like SKIMS debut on our shores.  

Josh Emett told Mike Hosking it's a step towards making Auckland a more international city.  

He says it's a great city and there's lots of space for this kind of growth.

Kiwibank is being forced to follow the big banks’ lead. 

Its one-year special rate has risen 20 basis points to 4.95%, and its two-year also increased 20 points to 5.39%. 

The increase is motivated by the bank’s desire to remain competitive as wholesale borrowing costs continue to rise. 

CEO Steve Jurkovich told Mike Hosking wholesale rates have been hard to deal with, but they don’t think the Official Cash Rate needs to increase in September.  

He says putting the rate up doesn’t produce more oil or make things more settled.

New Zealand ran in eight tries, six of which came in the second half. 

Former All Black Sir John Kirwan believes the side is making progress in preparing for how to shut down the Springboks in the first test on Sunday week.  

He told Mike Hosking they’re breaking down how the South Africans play and the counters are starting to take shape – a better kicking game, kicking behind them, and trying to break down the closing of the gate defence. 

Kirwan says they’re building in the right direction.
