Supermarket costs may be moving in the right direction.
The latest Infometrics Foodstuffs Grocery Supplier Index has found supplier costs increased 4.3 percent in the year to January.
It's much lower than the prior double digit increase.
Vegetables New Zealand Chair John Murphy told Mike Hosking that more people are keen to work in the sector which is a good sign.
He says there are some great opportunities in food production.
