Grocery prices are continuing to rise - but not as quickly as they have been. 

The latest data shows a 2.7% increase compared to June last year, down from 2.9% in May and 3% in April. 

Cost increases for fresh produce are less intense than a year ago but have increased 1.2%.

Chair for Vegetables NZ, John Murphy, joins Andrew Dickens to discuss the rising rates.

New Zealand's debt levels are closing in on $1 trillion, almost doubling in the last ten years. 

Economist Cameron Bagrie told Mike Hosking that while our debt issues need to be solved, on a global level we aren't out of the norm. 

"The government books are a lot healthier than what we're seeing in an awful lot of other countries around the globe, but we're, we're a shaky island, so we get a bit of a shock every sort of 10 years, so we can't afford to take debt probably too much beyond 50% of GDP."
