Farming seems to be driving economic growth in our regions.
Canterbury has reclaimed the top spot on ASB's latest Regional Economic Scoreboard, followed by Taranaki and Southland.
Taranaki recorded one of the biggest turnarounds, after sitting second from the bottom last quarter.
ASB Senior Wealth Economist Chris Tennent-Brown told Mike Hosking the common thread for the top three regions is the cash injection from the dairy sector, as well as good returns from the red meat sector.
He says the rural sector is definitely the place to be when looking for green shoots at the moment.
