We begin with a major development in the Joshlin Smith case. The long-awaited verdict has been delivered: Judge Nathan Erasmus has found Kelly Smith – the mother of the missing girl – along with her co-accused, Jacquen Appollis and Steveno van Rhyn, guilty of kidnapping and human trafficking.

Turning to the courts once again, proceedings in the murder case of a young man killed during a student protest at Walter Sisulu University in Mthatha have been delayed. A power outage at the courthouse forced the case to be postponed.

And in Pretoria, heightened police presence is being reported as the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) prepare to march toward a controversial 'Orania-like' settlement.
