Ryan Callaghan sits down with producer Jason Roehrig and director of photography Garret Smith for a behind-the-scenes look at his Alaska brown bear hunt, released as part of the 12 in ‘26 series. Armed with his recurve bow, Cal heads to the rugged coast of the Alaska Peninsula in search of an old, snaggle-toothed brown bear, ultimately facing a split-second decision in the waning light. The crew answers viewers’ questions and shares what it took to capture the hunt on camera, from the highlights and hard moments to eating bear and the stories that didn’t make the film.
