Maurice is one of the greatest players to ever grace AFL Hunter Central Coast, the Black Diamond League and the Central Coast Football League, with his football career simply remarkable. In 2011, he became the first player in the Black Diamond AFL competition to kick 1,000 career goals, before finishing with more than 1,500 goals in over 300 senior games between 1994 and 2015.
A record eight-time league leading goalkicker, Maurice's incredible 2001 season saw him boot 135 goals, including an astonishing 25-goal haul in the final home-and-away game to claim the league goalkicking title.
He also played a pivotal role in the Black Diamond representative team's famous underdog victory at the 2006 Representative Carnival, cementing his place as one of the competition's all-time greats. Today, the AFL Hunter Central Coast leading goalkicker award proudly bears his name.
Beyond football, Maurice continues to make a lasting impact through his work in Indigenous youth training and education, and now serves as a National First Nations Academy Coach with the Sydney Swans, helping inspire the next generation of footballers.
