I compared all states, some with a progressive income tax, some with a flat income tax, and some with NO income tax for income inequality using 2024 ACS Gini index, where 0 = perfect equality and 1 = perfect inequality, gives us a consistent way to compare states. The U.S. overall was 0.481 in 2024.
