12 years on from the 25th of January revolution in #Egypt which inspired the entire world and saw what was eventually a short but glorious time of freedom and democracy, cut short by a military coup.

| Prof. Paul Reynolds: Independent adviser on international relations, economics and governance. He is a member of the Lib Dem Federal International Relations Committee. Author of a forthcoming book on improving public policymaking. Reynold’s work in Egypt spans several decades, from 1974 to the 1990s working on economic & industrial restructuring. He later visited again in the summer of 2011 and 2012 working with my human rights campaigner friend Mandi Fahmy and was present amid the chaos in Tahir Square. He pushed for Liberal International's global conference to be in Cairo and Alexandria, which gave a voice to opposition representatives and political parties.
