Gearing up for SU Give Day - Let's chat on legacy and purpose!

Dr. Valarie Fields holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Southern University A&M College, a master’s degree and Education Specialist degree from the University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM), and a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Louisiana Tech University.

She currently serves as Vice President for Student Affairs at ULM, where she is the first woman to hold a vice president position in the university’s history and a two-time ULM alumna.

She has previously held vice president and academic affairs roles at Denmark Technical College and South Carolina State University, served as Executive Director of Louisiana Campus Compact for the Louisiana Board of Regents, founded the education management consulting company Valiant Achieving Leaders, LLC, in 2016, and was appointed to the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board by the state Supreme Court in 2022.

At ULM, she runs a monthly program called “Sippin’ Tea With the V.P.” connecting students with the executive board.
