It's the Kylon Jachio Show this morning. You hear a kiss? Hey, Ruby Rose.

We're zooming her in there. She's up on the screen fiddling around here. Not very tech savvy. Oh this she's high. Good morning.

How are you?

We're good, hun, how's things good?

Well? How is it really?

Though?

I've read that there's lockdowns again and stuff like that. Are you guys all right?

Yeah? Yeah, well that was the school holiday has got lockdown? That was a bummer for a lot of people. What's you're in LA?

What is it?

Are you out and about over there or are you still lockdown? In Los Angeles?

People are out and about. I am not. A lot of people are still.

LA is now open opened on the fifteenth of June, so people are out doing living life very normally. I'm just using my going outside time to exercise and be in nature and walk the dogs and not not kind of hurrying to get back to a restaurant, a bar or anything like that.

Yeah, no, we're not either.

You sort of get in to this zone of like becoming a recluse a bit, and then it's hard to pull yourself out of it.

In a way, you kind of enjoy it a little bit. But then I do think that, you know, I think Kyle and I are probably the same.

I know that There's been millions of times in my life where I've used that kind of throwaway comment of you know, I just can't stand people, like I love dogs, but I just I can't stand people. You know, The reality is it's not just that we you know, we can say that we can't stand people, but we love people.

We need people, we need community.

We actually, despite who you are, we don't have connection in these times, Like mental health is such a big deal because being isolated, it's just it's not good for people.

So I always worry so much.

And I know you guys weren't locked down for as long as us, but you're constantly being lockdown and I must be really tiring. And I can't wait to come home and see everyone, and you know, and all this together a little bit more simple.

But I've realized this, this lockdown. Celebrities have been movie stars, musos, like people who don't go out very often, who like to hide away and do their craft.

They are less effect than others.

But this explains why so many artists are a bit wacky.

Because you're right, Ruby.

We do need people, we do need interact with people, and it's been tough, like people that are single being isolated by themselves. That would be Are you're single, you haven't grabbed yourself a little.

Lover, you've locked down with a lover. I know you've ruby. There's no way you've locked down with.

What I've been single for asias. No, I'm single and I've got my three dogs. I will say this though, if I didn't have my three dogs, I would have been very, very scared about, you know, being in Lucker six months, because Zoom is one thing, but being away from my mom and my family during such an enormous shift in the universe was quite hard.

Sure, Yeah, totally.

I was single, and I was working on art and music and cooking and self help and all that kind of stuff, just trying to get the most out of terrible.

I gave up on self help, yeah, because a lot of it was reliant on myself.

So I thought, this is not you.

Had to actually do something exactly.

So I thought, I'm going to tell you, if you didn't.

Care about self help, self help and health, you wouldn't be.

Here's I'd have been long dead for sure.

You are you.

You're a fighter and you're your good soul and spirits up with the tough guy act.

Talking about softening things down.

You've done some great films and we've been a fan of all of them, and I mean right from the start. We obviously we loved you back on MTV. Then you did. Then you were the face of Maberlene.

We love that.

Then you left our shore for greater things in life. And men, Jackie didn't she succeed. Orange is the new Black, Pitt's Perfect John Wick, the meg redsident Evil, the Doorman, and now this new one Cranston Academy.

This is what I live for. And amazing acting, I thought to me, I.

Think, like getting dressed up in all the gear and sitting on set, I'd go crazy.

I'm a too fidgety for that.

But walking in a tracksuit with a joint in one hand into a voiceover booth.

Maybe not a joint because it's a kid's cartoon, but doing an animation, you think.

You can have a joint inside a professional sound group.

But the Cranston Academy Monster Zone. This is in cinemas now is this? Do you love the animation acting more? Or do you love getting up on set and being there and sucking up all the environment.

I like both of them. They're both very different.

I love.

For me, the reason why I love doing things that are more skewed towards the younger, because this is the second one that I've done that's an animation, is I want my little cousins and younger family members and friends and fans you aw to watch something that you know means something to me, because they might not be able to watch John Wick yet. You know, I don't necessarily want them seem the assassinating people on keeping, but I love it that, you know, they have really good, strong, simple messages about you know, being yourself and unifying and white bullying is not a good thing. And it's just it's a simple message and a really beautiful cartoon and animation, and I was really happy to do it.

How long does it take you to do that when you're doing animation?

Well, so I did this while I was doing Batman, and I would get a day off every you know, six years, and then I would have my one day and do this. So I did it over Usually could do this and maybe a week if you did it solidly. But I took about a month to get the days in. Then I that I could so I could record as well, usually eight hours.

You're not You're not.

You're not living the entourage lifestyle where you work for a couple of days and then just party and hang around with your friend.

This seems like hard, real hard work.

Oh yeah, but so is what you guys do. What you guys do is really really hard work.

But when you love it, it's very easy.

Don't tell anything so easy. Yeah, is like you walk in and talk to your best mate for four.

It's you guys have been doing this for how many years, like twenty one.

So that's why it's easy. You've and for it to be easy. Now you've bened it.

But there's no way that you can tell me. And that amount of time it wasn't. It wasn't hard heart slog, but that you love.

For shore, for sure, very hard.

In the early years when Jackie was such a prima donna and I was just a boy from the bush trying to give.

It a go.

You no, I remember that. And you were always on time.

He was always I was always he was always late.

That was sometimes.

I was always been you know, I was always wondering like Jackie, when are you going to be a bit more on time?

When are you going to pull your socks up? Puts a method into this job. It takes.

Very controversial girl.

You are look hang around Ruby, want to talk more with you. Ruby Rose is our guest this morning hero Kiss FM. It's the Kylo jack Yo show This Morning hero Kiss FM, the one, the only, the Australian legend. Ruby Rose joins us on air today during the Batwoman of the bat Girl whatever that was, and they said that the suit was affecting his skin and there was problems there with the outfit.

What happened there? What was going on?

Oh yeah, that's you.

Ask anyone that's ever played a superhero or Abellain or anything with it that kind of costume, They're not They're not fun.

That's not really the fun part.

I did find out that I was alleged to Latex and unfortunate, my cow, which is the mask, is late Ex.

So I was like, I'm a little itch and it was.

Getting worse and worse because as you get more contact with it, I guess you get more sort of reactions and the cow at the end and my whole face was his hives. They were like, we think we got that, and I was like, wow, what is it?

And it was like it out of a scary Ruby.

That's the worst.

I've had hives before on my legs, but I can't imagine it on my face.

Yeah, but Jackie, your hives on your legs are one thing. But Ruby's actually a beautiful woman and it was on her face.

Yeah.

We at least I could hide mine. Your legs.

You can put you can put jeans on those highvy legs. Remember used to wear those leather pants.

Now they should have been retired long ago.

He's talking about MELI to me, true, Oh good, there's one thing I remember about Australia.

Finally, when it comes to pants, assassin By It had those pants. It was so famous for like three years. It looked like leather and they were rousing. There were everything wrong with a pant and everyone has them all love.

I know.

I know before that, before you even born Ruby and Jackie, you'd remember these all girls wore stirre It pants. And if you had a girl with Steward pants, then you were having that. You were having the time of your life. Stirer pants were.

The making a comeback.

They're making a comeback.

Yeah, yeah, massively, Jackie, you've been shopping a cama.

No, I'm seeing girls out there with stirret pants.

Trust me.

Well, I'm shocked. I was a big fan pants.

So it's like just a tight imagine just a tight legging, but instead of yeah, instead of just ending at the ankle, it has like a piece of material that hooks under your ankle.

My favorite, so painful, like I feel like your arch your foot starts to really get sad. And also like we don't all have the same sized legs, so there either two long and floating around in your shoes or they're so tight and you feel like you're going to die.

Yeah, they're going to What about that Meg movie you're in where they said you nearly drowned because I only hear what's going on in entertainment tonight, and then they go Ruby Rolls nearly drowns with and I'm like, what the hell's going on over there?

No, I didn't almost drown because of course we have safety people underneath the water and everything like that.

But rain Wills, if he could have killed me, he would have tried hard.

Yeah, I was.

Meaning to, you know, I was drowning in the scene and he's meant to throw a ladder over, but John Turtle Tar, the director, was like, this is fantastic, this keep getting it.

Let's go, let's go.

And then I started to actually drown and I was like, but I never broke the accent because I was sort of too much in panic. And I just suddenly sunk to the bottom because my boots had filled up with water. And then the ladder came in and I'm getting myself out and I just gave rain and I flap across the head.

I love him so much.

You must admit some really eccentrically talented and wonderful people, because in the movie business TV world over there in America, you've got all types of crazies that have been able to throw them their brain, the crazy brain into making film. Is it fun with different directors or is it like, really, you don't know what you're going to get.

If you're not sure if you've worked with them before.

For me, it's all about the director. I mean the director and obviously the script.

But with a director, they don't have experience, and it's nice to have some meetings with them and see what they're sort of their favorite films are and why they got into filmmaking, and what they see is going to happen in the script and even if they're not that experience, so I feel like they really have a good understanding of it in a real passion, and I'm willing to take that risk.

And sometimes it's fantastic.

And other times it's not, you know, the greatest project, but it was still a good experience. But mostly I'll go to the director, look up all of their previous work, and that's where I'll make my main decision. So I try to go with directors today is that I know, or I can ask friends and say, what was it like to work with this person?

Mostly, even if you are not that nice, I'll still do it because it's about the art.

Yeah, what's it like though? If you're in the middle of a film and you feel like, oh god, this isn't working, Like, what's what happens to you during that process?

You're screwed? I think that's what happens.

Oh yeah, I know, you're definitely screwed. Well, look it happens. But look, the reality is, no one ever goes into anything wanting it to be terrible.

You know, no one ever goes into something wanting it to be harder than it needs to be, or falling apart, or having things like COVID and all these restrictions and shut down. So you know that, Yeah, there's there's times where you think, maybe this wasn't quite how I thought it was going to turn out, But you just have to make it has to be fun.

You make it fun.

Then you are right, well, we tried, and now how do we just get the best out of it? And you know, and you still want to promote it because you want to support the producers and everyone that believed in you, and you just have to keep us on and then.

Cry, yeah, hey, that's it's just your house. We can see in the backgrounds very nicely decorated the wall.

Art check is going.

She's been doing my head in lately with oh I want to buy this piece of art for my house.

She's got terrible target.

I love art so much, so I'm do you know where I got a lot of my art?

I got it when the Australia had all the bush buyers and a bunch of places came out and so we're gonna were going to sell an auction off art make money for the firefighters and for you all the damage.

That was done over.

There is Leonardo DiCaprio from Romeo and Juliet, you know. And it was shut and so I signed by Baslam and Leo and the costume designer as well. I got that in Sydney from US you doing Sydney and they've never printed them before, but they agreed to because of the bush fires in Australia.

I missed my boat.

I missed that Jackie, so you could have got yes, well, she always leaves her run too late.

Really, yeah, hell so.

And I don't know you Ruby, but if your lockdown and Jackie is locked down, and Jackie has dabbled in your area, and yeah, there was a few baths with neighbors and a few wines.

It wasn't really anything to talk about. She was quite disappointed and no one followed through.

And friends doesn't always mean what you think of exactly exactly.

That's what I tried to tell him a million times.

I had a lot of baths, but I've never had them with any of my male friends. Just let's have them, because what was your excuse?

Oh it's cold cold?

Yeah?

Who doesn't love a bubble bath and champagne with a friend.

Especially around now where it's like we want to have a connection and fine and freedom.

Yeah, when I.

Get I mean Paul Douglas. Well, I have been for the last two weeks, but now I'm back. I should actually bring up Ibrahim, my mate, Johnny Ibrahim, and say, hey, it's cold. Do you mind if I come around me have a bath and a glass of wine together?

Do you reckon that'll go down? Well?

Actually, I yes, And actually I would pay very good money in this room to what you guys have a bas together.

We might do that.

You should actually live host.

The Actually, that's pretty good. I like that idea.

I will okay, hold, I'll give you five thousand dollars if you do it, And then that way, Jackie, you can take that money and donate it to where she would like you to get some damn it.

I've got to ask you. I'll ask Johnny what I'll ask him. I'll reach out this week. I think the answer will be.

No.

Happened Jesus thousand dollars for me on the line.

That's right.

Cranston Academy Monsters Own. This is the new film animation movie awesome. Ruby's in it if you want to check it out. It's in cinemas right now.

Ruby. Thanks.

Look, if I can get bathtime happening, I will zoom you in.

We'll let you know.

I might an if you might do it, I might even double the offer. I want to hi my mom, to my grandma, to my friends. I miss you, guys. I'll be back as soon as I can.

We love you, Ruby. Keep killing it over there, Man, thrilled for you. We think you're awesome.
