On last nights season finale, Melbourne billionaire Adrian Portelli dropped $15 million on all 5 houses on The Block. We got him on this morning to chat about what his plans are next...
Check.
Well, the block wrapped up last night and it's over all.
Couples did the selling of the houses and all that shit.
They did all the auctions, and that Maddie and Charlotte.
Are they the ones that came on really late? Yeah? Right, and the weeks because one couple left and then they brought this other couple and I thought they've got no chance.
No, they won, well done, Yeah, and there they took home a prize amount of one point sixty five million. But the thing is is we've gotten used to seeing the auction on the block that Adrian Portelli comes in and buys, you know, a house here or there.
Right, Thank god he does, because when he hasn't done it, often these things don't even sell and then everyone's like, oh the whole thing's are disasters. Well, I thank the Lord for him.
This year, though, he was up against several buyers advocates who were acting on behalf of anonymous clients.
These like buyers agents.
Yes, buyers agents.
That's a new thing I've noticed here, like everything.
But there was a twist. After all the auctions were complete, Adrian revealed that those buyers were actually working for him the whole time. Revealing he had in fact snapped up all five properties, all of them.
The guy's not a billion easy without him would have happened. He's not an idiot. Well, other people may not make it.
But the thing is is Adrian has now said that's it for him, that's his last appearance on the block and will not be coming back and buying any more properties. Well, I've got him on the phone. I wanted to get him on to ask him about that high Adrian.
Adrian putelly, look at you've done it again.
Good morning, Hell good.
Were great men. I don't know why people carry on to that. Oh, Adrian's bought that, Like if when you weren't there buying them, these shitters are just sit there and no one would buy them. So I'm glad. I'm glad.
Nobody makes money.
That's right. So really you got to choose who wins the block basically on who's that's Oh I love that and I love that.
So what are you going to do with all these houses? Adrian?
It's going to burn him down.
I was thinking of starting my own resort, but I'm just going to give him away to one of my customers.
So that's what your customers that's what he does. Every time he says he gives them away. One who rash.
I see, I thought you knew a mate, and you're like, here you go.
It's a raffle thing.
Yeah, got it, go give it.
Give him away and there we go. Someone gets to win it.
That's awesome.
And did you do.
I'm not much of a fan of Philip Violin, so it's a it's a bit of a drive for me driving all that way.
Yeah, take a helicopter in land right there if you wanted, right.
But I feel like if he's got the helicopter, he's probably going like somewhere somewhere fancy, right.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of ally copters.
That you got the plane. I've noticed the plane.
Yeah, there's no runway there.
So why no block? So you not going to be giving houses away to customers or you're just not going to buy these ones anymore?
No, I think I'm just going to step away from the block. You know. I don't want to overstay my welcome, so we will. You can pretty events out of it.
So I'll tell you if you are looking at the houses, I've got a beautiful renovated home in poor Douglas that I've just put on the market. Maybe that's something you probably.
Can't be.
It's only two and a half million. This thing's are nothing. Okay, I'll send it to you. Yeah, I'll send that to you. Plus, my mum is selling a duplex on Bridey Island that needs a lot of renovation.
I'm out of money for the moment. Take the money again.
So Adrian, well done. It's it's thanks to people like you. These things actually get a get a get across the line. And I say, screw the haters. There's always someone hating and complaining, but I think it's a you're a magnificent fellow.
Yeah, it was good fun.
It's good to see all that, even the last contestants, you know, six hundred thousand dollars, so good seever and make some money.
Well did you come last and you've still got six hundred grand. That's better than the voice. It's better than winning the voice, you know what I mean?
Yeah?
Crazy, Ye, that's amazing.
Well yeah they did, they did. It was worth it in the end. Good on you, agenty And what is the business that you do?
Like, how do you get on? How do you win one of these houses.
So we run a law to Rewards club. So essentially we're a big marketing agency for businesses that want to reach out to our audience. So people pay a subscription and they get access to over fifteen hundred businesses that advertise through us and give them discounted rates, and then we run these promotional giveays to drive the traffic through the platform and pass the customers onto the businesses to get attention.
That's a great plan and it's done very well for you and your family.
It's worth well. It worked well, so I'm very blessed.
Yeah, we appreciate that idea.
We're thinking about that. We wouldn't even know who Adrian was.
Yeah, John, jump on board, Kyle mate, if you if you ever have a career change, I'm happy to take you on.
Well, not even after thought. You're an next druggle. You know. At least I'm my current at least i'm my current drug. I'm not a quitter. Thanks and appreciate
