Julius Jones, the man whose death sentence was commuted, is accused of trying to smuggle contraband into the Joseph Harp Correctional Center in Lexington in August 2024. During a search, investigators say they found a phone believed to belong to Jones and allege he gave specific instructions to a runner, even sending a Google Maps pin for a drop location.
