One would think that a nation-wide, uniform points-demerit system for traffic offences would be welcomed by provincial and municipal authorities, but this is not the case as the City of Cape Town  has made a court application to interdict the implementation of the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (Aarto) Act.
